THE WENGER THREAD

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Well Im pretty satisfied with our season so far - yes we have played largely average teams but wins against Spurs, Liverpool and Napoli are good enough for me to suggest we are finally in an upward spiral. I think it is us, Chelsea and City for the top 3 and that mini league will decide the order. Credit to Wenger to date - how happy must he be with Ozil and even more so Ramsey going through the roof. That Liverpool game was the first one where i thought yup we are playing well.

The scum have scored just 9 league goals this season - they have been far from a good team this season (although I am expecting that to change) so beating them, as really enjoyable as it was, is not any great indicator for me

Us v the victims was always the battle of the good teams who have been performing above their level - I stated on friday that flamoney absence in that game would not be felt because their midfield is one of the most average midfields in the whole division and we owned them there. As much as I hope to be proven very wrong, I cannot see the performances of ramsey and giroud lasting and in a way, their performing above their level, is a mirror image of the team itself.

Napoli, in the first half, was a great performance and as good as we have seen for many a day and nobody could expect that performance to last for 90 minutes - however, our last performance against dortmund suggests that we will still struggle against the good teams and reminds us again of the soft fixture schedule we have had in the league so far. The game against the chavs should concern every Gooner - it highlighted yet again, that we have no tactical idea how to play against teams like that and I know that we had far from our strongest team out, it needs to be said that they had made 10 changes from their previous game

To sum up, I too believe that we are on an upward spiral but nowhere near the level that many on here seem to think right now.

city are starting to find their form - aguero hatrick tonight (so far).

if we can draw against them once or twice, or get one win that would be a sign of quality.

we'll see on December 14th on what will likely be a cold wet windy night in Manchester, who has the grit as well as the pretty passing to win.

Having Arsene for a manager for all these years is a bit like being married to someone, and we all have our own reasons for staying or going.
The couple knows each other inside out and knows the good and the bad bits about each other only for some they can no longer see the
good side to their partner but pick at their faults like a scab.
Many are unhappy but soldier on because they don’t know any better and are scared life on their own or with someone else would be worse .
Those that really wanted a divorce left several years ago.
Others think that everone else has the prettiest woman in the room .
Some still think their partner has faults but the good points outweigh the bad and every now and again he brings home flowers which cheers them up even though they wither and die quickly .
What the fuck I am on about wenger out at the end of the year . Of course if he wins the league I may reconsider

Indeed, and in such expectation, shall come a turning of events that see's the stars and gods change their minds just to mind f*ck us....and thereafter the real tension begins. :proudtosay:

Still one injury away from catastrophe (ie Bendtner starting). If we don't sign a striker in the January window, surely this is indefensible?
