THE WENGER THREAD

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Re: Arsene Wenger points of view

Post by Gunnersaurus »

He's really blown it, at the start of the Summer it looked like he had finally learned his lesson by getting some players in early but it's turned out to be the same old same old.

Completely deflated now and this is worse than last year as we've learned nothing from it.

He has to go now, my sympathy for him is just all about gone, the man can not turn this around.

Have to admit, I don't really see what the long term policy is supposed to be- it's one thing thinking that you can't challenge the top couple of sides and "settling" for a champions league place, but this transfer window has left Arsenal in danger of not even getting 4th. Van Persie and Song sold, neither replaced :?: Cazorla looks class like but there's only so much he can do with the players that are around him. I'd still fancy you to get top 4 (not that it should be seen as an acceptable seasons target for Arsenal) but Wenger/ the board are playing a very dangerous game.

What else can you say really?

We are all aware that he is a "that which must not be named" and tonight is yet another chapter in this sorry story of the demise of AFC.

Im sorry to say this but we are slowly turning into a worse version of the bin dippers. At least when the shite really hit the fan up there the fans rose up and helped force Hicks and Gillet out. We have had yet another watershed moment here with Chamslack 1 injury away from a starting berth and no out and out Defensive Mid but I am resigned to the fact that the AKBs rather than clean this shit up will continue to swallow it from the bowels of ODL

No mod's on here, so here we go.
Wenger, show some fucking class and go now. Protest to the board that you are disgusted that you are the face of Arsenal and their scheming manipulation of the fair minded supporters. You hate the way that the supporter is scammed and lied to? Oh, wait a minute, you can't? ,,,,,, what's that? You were in it up to your neck for seven years.

Mate mod or not i totally agree with you. There is no problem with peoples opinions on Wenger good or bad its just the abuse we've been told to cut down on not opinions, none of us want this place shutdown again thats all we care about on here and the quote above has no abuse in it IMO.

Agree with this, and also Flash's point that it is a valid opinion and not mere abuse. Have spent a while writing an article on the current situation and then realised I have no idea how to go about getting it published on here :banghead:
