Re: WENGER - Views For and Against.
sack everybody except uncle bouldy. our defence is better this year apart from the zonal marking bollocks.
i've just read that pod is STILL three weeks away from fitness - thats FOUR months just for a hammie, and why should any player pull a hammie just two weeks into the season - poor training, poor pre-season conditioning, that's why. and we lost OX and Sanogo the same week ! - W.T. F.
we need to sack the whole lot - medical staff, fitness coaches, wenger, gazidis,
yes we are top, but thats because results are going our way with three clubs with new managers.
no other club would tolerate the incompetance on our staff - does Ivan even care that we just paid a million quid for an international striker to sit in the treatment room for FOUR months ? Does Wanger ?
the whole club is rotten.

You don't believe that, surely? that comment seems way over the top to me.clockender1 wrote:sack everybody except uncle bouldy. our defence is better this year apart from the zonal marking bollocks.

There's obviously some things that aren't right, and need sorting, but the whole club isn't rotten. That's quite some comment to make, mate.

Re: WENGER - Views For and Against.
i do.
Gazidis should replace the medical and fitness staff, but won't because AW picked them. failure is tolerated by Gazidis and Wenger, even rewarded based on the contract extensions given to Bentdner, Arshavin, Djourou and Denilson.
the Board puts no pressure on Gazidis to pressure on Wenger to fix anything, and wenger hasn't pressured anyone otherwise our injury record wouldn't be so awful would it ?
the whole structure reeks of complacency, and given that we have the highest price tickets and highest paid manager in the game its not good enough.
we have seven first team players out still and not one injury is from a tackle or caused by the opposition.
we are one Giroud injury against Bentdner leading the line against City.

That was led by the singing section, I sit quite close to them. It was quite loud and widespread....I think the tide is turning back to Wenger. I must admit, I'd never thought we'd be in this position now, credit where credit is due. Still think we will collapse at some point but we are much more solid and resilient than last season.Dan_85 wrote:A hearty and rowsing rendition of "One Arsene Wenger" swept through the NB lower today on about 80 mins![]()
Re: WENGER - Views For and Against.
The thing with Arsene's Arsenal is......they are made of glass, and as soon as the confidence slips a little, we'll be back to inconsistency. Wanger has bred a squad of pussies for years and it won't all change because of a good start to the season. There is zero mental strength in the squad. If we're still top going into January I'll start to think maybe we will finish better than 4th, but for now I'm convinced the usual Arsenal crumble is just around the corner.

Sadly I can't claim the glory for that. I was part of the rousing "FEO ! FEO !" chants that The TW Fanclub (aka block 2 windowlickers) that was belted out loud and proud as their hero took to the field

Re: WENGER - Views For and Against.
I think I have to disagree with the bit in red, we have had three defeats this season all against big teams (Chelsea, Dortmund and Utd) and not once have we played the following game where we haven't looked up for it. This time last season would have seen us follow a defeat with a poor performance and maybe even a defeat, but so far as I can see this hasn't happened. I agree that there is certainly time for us to collapse, I just can't see it happening yet. I think we will be contenders for the title this season, even more so should we bring in another striker.TeeCee wrote:The thing with Arsene's Arsenal is......they are made of glass, and as soon as the confidence slips a little, we'll be back to inconsistency. We just look miles better this season as a team than we did last season and now we are 12 games in and four points clear at the top. Now, while I couldn't agree more that we are a long long way from the finish line, you cannot deny that we don't deserve to be top when you watch every other team in the league.
What I don't get is people were saying that they were going to wait until the end of November to start judging this teams credentials, and that they would be very surprised is we were still to be top of the table. Now we are definitely going to be top at the end of this month and most of those people (a lot of them not even Arsenal fans) are saying " I'm going to wait until the end of the year to judge this team". Is this just going to keep happening until we hit the end of the league?

Probably. Even if we are right in the mix at the start of March we have never shown that we have it in us to close it out, unlike City, Chelsea and United.Ryanswannell wrote:I think I have to disagree with the bit in red, we have had three defeats this season all against big teams (Chelsea, Dortmund and Utd) and not once have we played the following game where we haven't looked up for it. Re: WENGER - Views For and Against.
But isn't the problem that the vast majority of the time we always get beaten by the big teams. I will hold Dortmund away up as the one massive exception to the rule, where the team produced an old school defensive display the likes of which we haven't seen in years and for which they quite rightly received a lot of plauditsRyanswannell wrote:I think I have to disagree with the bit in red, we have had three defeats this season all against big teams (Chelsea, Dortmund and Utd) and not once have we played the following game where we haven't looked up for it. But when Chelsea rock up and we set foot inside Old Trafford I see the same team of old with all its same problems - a one dimensional approach and fear levels that they will never conquer their old enemies. A sign of a change in fortunes would be a points haul of more than 1 or 2 from the four games we play against these two. Until that happens I don't think we've improved significantly, except for perhaps being a bit more consistent against the lower teams

Yes we look more disciplined, more hardworking, harder to break down, but I think we are all nervously anticipating that it is just another false dawn and nothing fundamentally has changed (we are still so frustrating to watch when we overplay it for the perfect opening - I can't wait for Podolski to come back and shoot) but only time will tell.

What a cracking idea. The AFC branded toaster will have nothing on the AW bun brander!
