Official World Cup Thread

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

What is funny to me is that IC is known as a big, hard, physical side. Yet we all having a chat about one of their players that went down, unchallenged, to Kaka of all people    8)

I think even BrazilianGooner will back me up on this
no he didn't, imo. gilberto was excellent, but melo was sloppy and IC's goal was his fault

augie wrote:Seriously bg the fact that you are totally on your own in slating kaka should give you a hint of how wrong you are. Kaka stood his ground...nothing more and nothing less. How the fcuk you can book any player for that is fcuking way beyond me and instead of focusing on his alledged elbow you should be focused on the most dispicable act of cheating tonight (and that is saying something considering dogbreath and eboue were both playing as well  ). What we saw tonight from that IC c**t is the equivilent of what rivaldo did v turkey a few years ago and he got nailed for it after the game so it will be interesting to see if fifa dickheads take any action now

Have to say that the two IC tackles tonight were an absolute disgrace tonight and were symbolic of their continual kicking of anything in a yellow shirt  I totally agree that some of the brazilians were very guilty of diving but against that I will also say that they were getting fcuk all protection from that ref
exactly that. the fouls on bastos and elano were leg breakers (specially on elano, who got injured) and not any less criminal than the ones on ramsey and eduardo. both were lucky enough to leave the pitch with their legs in one piece.

i'm not saying the players should be diving, but when you get no protection from the ref in a game that's already won, i can tell you that i would definetaly do the same. again, the fouls on bastos and elano were both disgraceful

Well bg. maybe if on every occasion brazil didnt roll around, and fein injury, the ref might have had a different attitude. Every time the there guys tapped the brazilians, they were looking to go down or "draw the foul"

the tackle on elano was a shit tackle and red card - but when you have your player (can't remember which one) pirouetting after being tackled, in mid air, just so they can show their "anguish" to the ref - is just bollocks and then no surprise the ref is sceptical.
