fivetothree if you could kindly let me know the minimum amount of time that needs to be observed until we are allowed to say that he is fucking useless and will never ever ever make it at this level, that would be fantastic.

Re: The Yaya Sanogo Progress Thread
He shouldn't be any where near our first team until he is ready, in your own words he has a mental block, so should work that out on loan or in the reserves, not playing in important matches in the hope that it might, somehow, miraculously come good. A Wenker project to provide that he can spot a talentfivetothree wrote:How many games has he had? 10? 12? Probably not even that, and you are writing him off already. He clearly has a mental block, look at the Benfica game, once we he scored you could see how much more relaxed he was when he got the ball. Yes, it was a friendly but it could also happen in the league.officepest wrote:Because, let me think, he's not very good? So poor against Palace his one shot hit the corner flag and his teammates stopped passing to him.fivetothree wrote:FFS why are people writing off Sanogo already, two games into the season?!
Yes, he has a lot to work on but he had the running ability and strength of a forward, when he scores perhaps he will relax and improve?
People here have short memories - remember the Liverpool cup game last season? Giroud was dropped for playing away and Sanogo came and setup the first goal with a great bit of play.
Give the guy a chance sheeesh. I bet some of you were the same with Anelka and Henry when they first started (and no I am not comparing them with Sanogo, just that they also had a slow start)
All I'm saying is at least give him this season before passing judgement. People were getting on Ramseys back 2/3 years ago and saying we should get rid, look at how he has turned things around.
Some people have such short memories.

When will Sanogoals finally break his duck? If he can't do it against Besiktas then we better be hoping for a League 2 outfit at home in the League Cup so that he can equal Park's wonderful record
Re: The Yaya Sanogo Progress Thread
Bentdner actually scored in the PL, champions league, FA cup, and league cup, he was shit, but could at least score, Sanogo seems to have a phobia of scoring goals, and his shit play made a manger- less Palace seem decent. It seems you support him just because Wenger went out and got him on a free, though had wenger actually spent a bit of money we could have a decent striker, and not a player stealing a living.fivetothree wrote:I did say in my post 'I am not comparing them'. Henry was struggling for the first few games, and I remember being at games and also in the Gooner people were already complaining about him - people were saying Suker/Kanu should have been ahead of him! He was getting absolutely slated.officepest wrote:No, sorry mate but no.fivetothree wrote:Give the guy a chance sheeesh. Anyone who knew anything knew Henry had a tremendous pedigree prior to signing for us. Yes, he took a while to kick in but I don't think many thought: "this Terry Henry looks like a pile of shit" while waiting for him to open his account with us.
With Anelka too it was obvious he was a fine prospect because he demonstrated his qualities for us at an incredibly young age and kept Wright out of the team, on merit.
I simply cannot see any comparison between Sanogo and Henry/Anelka.
Of course we need another forward, but as a 3rd option he is a million miles better than the footballer formerly known as Nicolas Bentdner.

He will progress from a useless pile of turd that we only had to put up with on rare occasions last season to a useless pile of turd we have to put up with on a regular basis this year.
Re: The Yaya Sanogo Progress Thread
Whilst Sanogo has been mainly poor, I think a lot of the criticism of him stems from the fact we didn't pay anything for him. If he had cost £20M and been shit people would have largely stayed off his case for a bit. Maybe spunksum4uckingmoney might have had a problem, but you get what I'm saying.BFG4 wrote:Bentdner actually scored in the PL, champions league, FA cup, and league cup, he was shit, but could at least score, Sanogo seems to have a phobia of scoring goals, and his shit play made a manger- less Palace seem decent. That's absurd. Really absurd.kiwomya wrote:

If he had cost £20m, then they'd be some evidence for it. Or? In this case, there is no fucking way that Sanogo, on the basis of what he's done, would fetch £20m. Therefore, your contention is, more or less, bollocks.
Sorry, but I can't express it in another way.

Took the words right out of Arsene's mouth.kiwomya wrote:Whilst Sanogo has been mainly poor, I think a lot of the criticism of him stems from the fact we didn't pay anything for him. It's pretty fucking patronising as well. I don't dispute that transfer fees have an affect on expectations and perceptions but suggesting fans wouldn't be able to spot Sanogo for the sub-standard footballer he is if we had paid £20m is crap. I could walk into any Championship U21 training and come back with 2 or 3 strikers who would have shown at least as much promise as Sanogo with the opportunities he has had.

They should ban the word progress in the title and while at it ban those fucking emoticons
Re: The Yaya Sanogo Progress Thread
You do realise your repeating exactly what Arsene said when asked about Sanogo? everyone can see Sanogo is shit, and the only positive about him is that we didn't waste any money by actually buying him, but to use your logic, no one on here would ever speak a bad word about Ozil because he cost 42 million.kiwomya wrote:Whilst Sanogo has been mainly poor, I think a lot of the criticism of him stems from the fact we didn't pay anything for him. Will you be signing a replacement for Giroud?
