I'm sure 1989 will be leading the charge when it comes to our numerous 'near misses' on those big-money transfers

But on a less exciting note who do people think would make good additions to the squad at the back? We will obviously need a keeper, a right-back and at least one centre-half.
GK - Realistically Wenger has chosen Szczesny as #1 (and was repaid this year with a great season) so we're looking for a number 2. We've fucked around for too long with shit keepers, you can get a decent back-up for less than £5m. Ruddy would be good but given he's 27 and involved with England I think he'll have an offer to be first-choice at a decent PL side which he'd prefer. If so just look for an experienced, solid (if unspectacular) keeper in the Schwarzer/Friedel mould. They're cheap as chips even if they'd need replacing in 2 years.
RB - With Wenger's fascination with Ligue 1 players and his love of shopping in the £5-10m bracket Aurier is the likely choice. Personally I'd love Coleman - he'll take £15-18m to prise away but he has grown defensively and for all the media wankfest over full-backs with pace but little else to offer (Walker, Shaw etc) Coleman is actually a real threat. Obviously a fair amount to spent on a full-back but if he nails down that position for the best part of a decade it's a great investment.
CB - Nobody springs to mind straight away, just players I DON'T want to see. Primarily that fat jack carthorse Ashley Williams or Rio Ferdinand.
LB - I can't see Wenger bombing out Monreal so this is a hypothetical really but he is a walking disaster and a coward to boot and I'd love to see him go. Seems to be scared of his own fucking shadow. Personally I think Neil Taylor from Swansea would be a great option. I've always been impressed whenever I've seen him - not a top player but very diligent at both ends of the pitch. He was extremely unfortunate to get that nasty injury and lost his place to Ben Davies but I really do rate him. I'm sure coming to try and put Gibbs under pressure at Arsenal (and in any event playing for half the season due to Gibbs' fibreglass structure) is far more attractive than sitting watching a 21-year old playing ahead of him every week. The fact he's only 24, adds to the British core and would also be available cheap are a bonus.
