The idea that Arteta could be our next manager makes me fucking sick, to be honest.

Utterly fucking stupid fucking choice if it is true.

He's now 13/8 faviroute with SkyBet and given what Allegri just said, I don't think Juventus will sack him somehow!, it is looking like out of the frying pan (Wenger) and in to the fire (Arteta).

They better pray we hit the ground running next season because there will be virtually zero 'goodwill' if that is the word, the fans will be itching to give it to the board with both barrels if things don't improve or get worse next season.

It could be amusing I guess.. no point taking this club seriously anymore as they don't act like a serious f*cking club.

Looks like the corrupt club won't be getting any of my cash for another decade! :barscarf:

I'm more than prepared to support & contribute to any protests planned against the board & owner. :box:

If Arteta is chosen then I suggest protests should start straight away next season, bollox to all this undermining the players and manager shite, the board & owner should be getting it with both Cannon barrel's from now on, especially as Wonga their human shield has been sacked! :cussing:

So, we are being or have been linked with the first team coach of Liverpool, Man Utd and Man City to be our next manager. Surely, we are a much bigger club than that, or are we deluded as supporters of the status of Arsenal Football Club?

Its becoming apparent we are not moving hard for a top line manager. And it really does seem Arteta could win the lottery and get a job he is not worthy of. Im absolutely aghast at the idea of him being manager. When Wenger said he was leaving, it was finally a chance for a new & clean break. However Arteta as manager is some sort of cruel joke. He was an under performing player and the shittest captain we ever had. He was part of the mad dash following the 8-2 thrashing & was a piss poor Cesc replacement. The media refer to him as an Arsenal great which is so bizarre considering he was an Arsenal disaster. In what world does this Arsenal board think the fans would accept Arteta? He was one of Wenger's merry men, morons who think sideways and backwards passing is possession football. He lacked work ethic and as a push over in midfield. He was weak and was dis-possesed twice in one half in that lead to 2 of Chelsea's 6 goals in Wengers 1000th game. He is the type of player that was indicative of our decling state

Im absolutely stunned that following a popular decision to remove a very unpopular manager, this board would appoint someone who has no pedigree, no respect & no worthiness. Arteta never played for Spain, and the biggest club he played for was us, and even still he was a panic buy.

If the club want to go down this route, then give it to fuking paddy, because he actually was a great captain and midfielder, has pedigree, respect and worthiness. The fans will love him and get behind him more than we could Arteta. Please just give it to Paddy, because Arteta will be a permanent disaster from start to end = Gary Neville at Valancia

Having just watched Wenger's last pre-match press conference, he said he's clearing his office on Thursday. I'd anticipate the club to announce his replacement Thursday/ Friday this week.

They have no idea whats going on. They have no plan or aggressive pursuit of a chosen manager. They are looking at each other and for the first time in their Arsenal careers the board actually have to make a decision. For years they delegated to Wenger while they just smoked cigars & spoke cliches of moving forward and progress.

They have no idea what they are doing. Gazidis, who I recently gave the benifet of the doubt as soeone who wanted to mve forward and but was contrianed by Wenger, is apparently warming to Arteta as manager. Im sorry, I know I have said it before, but that grease ball slapstick as manger is a fuking joke. He isnt a manager to begin with, he was a former average player who sat on Pep's bench for a year.

How can the players respect Arteta as manager when they used to play with him and knew they were better than him. Respect and authority is what s needed in our next manager, so why would Ozil respect Arteta? Why would Wilshere respect Arteta? Who he saw pull out of tackles all these years?

its ridiculous.

Why is he not clearing his office out today? Is there four more days of long goodbyes? Does the postman and milkman have to get into the queue to pay tribute?
He finished as Arsenal manager yesterday, things should be wrapped up by now. This may seem trivial to some but it is time for this break up to be completed. He is or was a football manager and football is finished. It's over Arsene, time to go .

Jesus that is some of the worst most ill informed revisionist horseshit I've ever read on here - and that's saying something.  Arteta was our most consistent player for the first two seasons we had him until his legs went. Not his fault Wenger played him long after he had peaked, that's what Wenger does.

I still would never want him as manager but that has nothing to do with his playing career.

Some bloke called Unai Emery is now the dark horse. Did well with Sevilla and now in charge at PSG no less.

Would inevitably be known to us as "Dick". As in "ooooooh, you are awful..........but I like you".

This is getting very interesting say the least. I'm gutted if they won't appoint Allegri, he would've been perfect fit for us.

But, I still think Arteta isn't coming as number one. It just doesn't make any sense. Would club release most of its backroom staff and employ a guy who won't bring his own staff with him as he doesn't have one? And why would Arteta leave City for us if he's only given number two role? Surely in that case he wants to stay with Pep.

On the other hand, we might choose the path of employing first team coach type of solution rather than manager because our backroom structure supports this kind of solution. We have Mislintant and Sanllehi in place to deal all the important backroom stuff so we might employ someone to take care the every day training and match management. Surely this kind of approach eliminates most of the top managers from our short lists?

But, if they choose to go with Arteta, I will support him 100%. It really doesn't matter one iota what kind of playing career he had if he's capable coach. Of course I'd be worried as fuck but would still support him 100%. The dream became reality now that Wenger's gone and I haven't been this excited in years. I won't be killing that excitement by judging the new man too soon. But also, the reality is that the new guy won't have many years to spend, he needs to provide results in few years time.
