And are we surprised ? Coming to us would be at best a sidewards step for huntelaar and I don't blame him for not wanting that. I watched an espn legends programme about Bergkamp a couple of nights ago and in it the romford pele said how other top quality players were drawn to join us cos we had a player of Dennis's quality playing for us.....what player have we got that will entice other top players now ? I will stake my life that cazorla would not have joined if he knew that rvp was on his way.
Of course all that ignores a big point in this issue....we don't want to buy top players anymore   Huntelaar isn't the right nationality, wouldn't come cheap (wages) and most importantly wouldn't be the type of guy that would sit there quietly whilst wenger fcuks us up with his team selections and non existent tactical plan

These days I don't really expect my club to sign any top quality players but it doesn't stop me feeling very disappointed and frustrated when yet another potential target slips through the net  I had concerns as regards huntelaar being able for the fast paced prem league but at the same time I was very confident that he is a natural goalscorer that would bring more goals to the team than Giroud, walnut, forehead, chamakh and arshavin combined

Err...nope. One last time:

Henry in on loan
Walcott sold late in the window as soon as a £10m+ bid comes in (and it will)
Zaha in (which will be portrayed as beating United to his signature but the reality is he will join because at United he'd be in the reserves or on loan for a year where as Lord Wenger will have him playing 40 games next season and then make him captain at 23, before he ultimately joins a big club)

Sagna to be sold in the Summer

Would anyone take any of this lot?

Manchester City are planning an overhaul of their player recruitment policy as they look to cut down on a wage bill that has risen above £200m-per-year. Defender Joleon Lescott, 30, midfielder Gareth Barry, 31, midfielder James Milner, 26, striker Edin Dzeko, 26, and striker Mario Balotelli, 22, could all be sold to help the drive.
Full story: The Sunday Times

Personally I'd be more than happy to sign Lescott because he has something none of our centre halves have i.e. the ability to command everything in the air, and without any hesitation Dzeko because he'd walk in to our side

Never liked one-paced Barry, Balotellli is a *word censored* of the highest order and Milner is another massively over-rated Ing-er-lund player that I just don't get at all

Don't do it to yourself chaps - there will be no Ba or Llorente just like there was never going to be Huntelaar.

You might be able to sing "Knowing me, knowing you........Zaha" in the New Year and that's yer lot

£12m for Sturridge is a steal for the bin-dippers when you consider that was the same price as Forehead and the French donkey Giroud.

If Wenger really wanted to get a British core at Arsenal he'd have coughed up for Sturridge AS WELL as tying down Theo.

Sturridge and Theo in a 4-4-2 together could have been great. Then we'd have Podolski and Giroud for the other options. 4 good strikers, that's what you need to win titles. When Theo is sold we will just have Podolski, and even he is not a conventional striker.

Suarez and Sturridge are an interesting prospect, I wonder how they will accomodate him into their 4-3-3 or if they will scrap it and play a 4-4-2.

I'd rather have any carroll  Sturridge is a cocky c**t who has done nothing in the game to merit that arrogance and he has shown himself to be a money grabbing b*****d in the past when he joined the chavs leaving the club that educated him in the process
