Bradford match thread

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Congratulations to Bradford for beating Villa tonight. They've given themselves a great chance of getting to the Final...! Fingers crossed that Swansea get a decent result against Chelsea as well to increase the chances of us having been knocked out by the eventual winners (and they didn't even manage to beat us.... )!

I was thinking to myself earlier if any AKB's or AMS's would have the gall to use tonight's result as some kind of 'comfort blanket'. :rubchin:

Arsenal woes aside, you have to love Bradford's run so far.

It would be a great story if not for the fact that we were also turned over by this League 2 team and failed to score against what is possibly one of the worst defences the PL has ever seen. For Fuck Sake even the Spud munchers and Wigan put 4 past them.

The easiest route to a final we were ever going to get and we made a crunt of it by playing klingon up front and more tippy tappy shite. What really fucks me off is when some AKBs compare the way we play to the Barcawhores- the difference (aside from the chasm in quality) is the fact that they can quicken the tempo of the passing on a whim and thread passes through the eye of a needle. They also can play wide and stretch the game without wingers because their fullbacks give them so much going forward.

Our 4-5-1 is the most negative and predictable system that allows any team with an organised defence a shot.

Years ago it would have been us coasting through to the final- now we are left hoping we arent the only ones humiliated in the competition.

And that is a comment that you can copy and paste to every single match thread on here and exposes the fallacy that we play lovely football

Hi to all. Just getting back to normal after a real rollercoaster month. Still have to nip myself to see if its all real. Just wanted to once again thank all you Gooners for the gracious and kind words of encouragement posted on here. Beating Villa in the first leg was sweeter than the win over you guys since their cocky attitude was unbearable. Travel & hotels for Wembley were booked up as soon as they heard they were playing us. Although we're only half way there, i'd dearly love to push them aside in two weeks time.
Last night's result ( Chelsea 0 Swansea 2) was a shock and instead of Wembley being our only goal, we feel if we were to reach the final there's a slim chance that....no, i won't say it. Like i said at the time, you were a credit to your club on the night. Well behaved and tolerant. Good luck for the rest of the season & genuinely hope you get yourselves sorted in the league.

Huge effort from Bradford, nobody can discredit them for having a mudbath of a pitch or for kicking opponents off the park because truth is they've now deservedly beaten two established PL sides through tactics and endeavour. Really hope they can go and get a result that puts them through at Villa Park and then do a number on whoever they meet in the final.

Good luck mate. The shame for you guys is that you didn't get to meet us in the final as you'd have been guaranteed the cup as soon as Arsene's bottlers take the field. Villa are a second rate, bitter scumbag club and I wish you the very best of luck for the second leg.
