THE WENGER THREAD

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Fuck me 8m a year. Does AW need any more money? I mean if he loved the club so much why cant he take a cut of 2m?

TBH I don't want him to sign. I am not influenced by our start. I predicted weeks a go that by the end of the season we will want him out again and I still stand by that. Our summer was appauling. Ozil was and still is a panic signing and we have no back up for an average CF. We have just 3cb and I an see it all falling apart when we take on Chelski and CIty.

Agree with many sentiments on here. The run won't last. I doubt very, very much that we will still be top come 01st January. I do however believe there is every chance of finishing 3rd.
I have wanted him out for a good 2 or even 3 years (cannot recall exactly when my attitude started to turn against him), and I cannot change my viewpoint simply because we are top on the 07th of December.

Hokay Gooner peeps let's put this in simples yes, no!?

Hokay...

The next five prem games - three of which are 6 pointers (toffee's, chavscum & $hitty) - will either see us move either further away from the trailers or get pulled back (oooh err meeessuss! ) and be over taken...as such they can very well see us gain more confidence and spirit or crumble like a cream cracker under a steam roller....also there is the added impediment of us having to play Napoli away 3 days before we play then away to $hitty who at home have punished teams badly...

it is I think 'Make or Break'...either way wenger will NOT be signing the much needed striker...but he will get a new £8 million a year new contract.

So come Jan 1st 2014 we will either be; :barscarf: :dancingbanana:  :high5:

or

 :banghead: :cussing: :suicide:

First it was we will falter when we face Napoli, then it was that we would falter come Liverpool, then it was we will falter come Dortmund, then it was that we would falter after losing to Man Utd :barscarf:

But we've passed all tests so far with flying colours. Top of the hardest CL group by far and top of the league by a nice 4 point cushion. Draw at both Man City and Chelsea [we will beat Chelsea actually, they've been pretty woeful and have papered over the cracks] and we still will be top.

It seems like some of you live to see Arsene falter, just enjoy this and leave your Arsene hate for when the time comes [and seeing how wrong and pitiful some predictions have been this may still be for a long time yet].

What's it gonna be if we pass the Shitty/Chelski tests? Wait until we win the CL final?

Defence looks very solid, mid field top class only problem is attack where Giroud clearly is showing signs of tiring. If we sort that out then we'll be shoe in for PL and possibly genuine CL contenders.

The thing is - most seem to agree that Giroud isn't a world Class striker - But, he does give his all and doesn't stop trying/running/chasing down chances (causing goalies to make errors) he also is good at defending at corners...and so he MUST be rested at some point for 2 games at least - and yes bendy bollocks scored against hull, but he was as slow as a cart horse with the touch of a rapist, so we desperately need a quality back up.

Danny Welbeck is like Carlos Vela Plus. Runs around a lot and probably quite irritating to defend against but really he's all fart no shit.

United scored 86 goals last year and he only managed 1 of them in his 27 appearances. And even though a lot of those were off the bench how many late goals did United score last year? Christ I could have come on 27 times for United and just stood on the penalty spot waiting for the ball to fall for me whilst they were laying siege to the opposition goal and scored more than once!

I have it from a reliable source on twitter that AW is using his huge salary to fix the matches of the other top teams. Got to be true. :D
