Manure v Arsenal

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

MOTD is pure propaganda. I've come back from games and swear they haven't even used real game footage when I've watched it on MOTD it's that bad! Some of their usual tricks are missing out clear cut chances, skipping over poor challenges and showing a near miss whilst failing to point out that the player was actually flagged offside.

Every report I've seen has said he was perhaps slightly fortunate to stay on the pitch. Bollocks. It was such a cut and dry second yellow it's unreal, if ever anybody claims that United don't necessarily get big decisions their way at OT it's a prime example because at any other PL ground he would have walked. Any sort of foul really after Wilshere had skipped past him 30 yards from goal was probably a yellow, and a rash tackle straight through the back of a player like that is a yellow card anywhere on the pitch, so the combination of the two couldn't have been an easier decision. It would have made fuck all difference to the result but it's actually ridiculous now that they're getting so many favourable decisions in every big game.

'You can't continue to sell your best players and expect to improve' - Alan Shearer. #MOTD

'Total schoolboy stuff.., he is not a defender.' - Alan Hansen on Santos' performance for Arsenal today.
But no one in the media asks the question as to whether Wenger should pay for it with his job. I mean they go on about us not winning anything for 7 years but it is as if Wenger has no responsibilty for it.

I can't read any further than that sorry. Going back many years? That was the only song I could heard their fans singing today, he's never really kicked up much of a fuss about it considering how bad the abuse has been over his entire career and it in no way actually undermines the validity of any complaints. He might have no tactical nous whatsoever, he might be blind and he might be perennially dragging our club down but he doesn't deserve that. I don't want to beat the same drum all the time but that guy is slagging our fans off and I'm not having it.
You're missing the point. We spent years complaining about those chants and at the first opportunity use them ourselves. As some people (Gooner Ed I believe) have said, will we sing the paedo song as soon as AW has gone?
I see what you mean, but I'm sick of our fans getting slammed whilst fans of every other club get away with it every week.

Why did Andre Santos actually swap shirts with van Staplecunt at half time? I say swap, van Staplecunt unsurprisingly didn't want his in return. It's disgusting, he is a fucking disgrace to that thing on his chubby chest that masquerades as our badge.

As my hangover has dissipated so has my apathy. Spurs losing will always put a smile on my face but it's embarrassing that we've been reduced to getting our kicks out of other teams losing rather than our own ambition and success.

For me the most important position on the field is midfield. Today we had our 3 best possible against Michael Carrdick and Tom Dopeley and we were outplayed all game

It's because they don't give a shit about Arsenal. They like it that we don't win stuff because take away us winning stuff and having x number of red cards since Jesus was born, they actually have fuck all to talk about with us. If the bindippers go through their yearly bad spell which has lasted a generation now, it's a national crisis and they all sit around trying to plot a way out of it, if Newcastle lose two matches in a row, they stoke up the manager out furnace and anywhere else they can get some shitty, drivel story from. The mainstream media actually like the fact that we have won fuck all for seven and a half years because they have always hated us as we broke up the bindippers party in 89 and were rivaling Manure- their cash cow and rent boys for a long time too. The longer we continue to sell players and not realistically challenge for things, the happier the scum at the beeb, sky and the written press are as they can churn out all the cliches and not worry about us winning things.

Yep. It never surprises me. I always feel proud to hear it, and it is a reminder of when I could afford to do the same. Hence, I lose my voice shouting from the comfort of my lounge, but my heart is always with the away support.

Always well done to the away support.
Proud of our away support? - some YES, but...

I heard "one Arsene Wenger" and "she said no", and apparently there was even "dutch Jimmy Saville"...

Fans who sung the first song are infuriating, but those who sung the second (and ESPECIALLY the third!) are no better than that lot down the road. Shameful stuff, I'm afraid. I'm genuinely saddened that some of our fans would stoop so low.

No class.

Agree with this, I think the fact that the away support is loud (as opposed to the home support) gets confused that this is in some way ''great''

To be fair, I'm usually happy with our away fans, but this whole RvP shite has really highlighted that some of our fans have come from the same stagnant pond as that lot down the road.

They may not have been perfect but I still thought our fans were magnificent today..... Football is football. No-one can tell me that RVP didn't expect a rough ride today - it's what he is paid for. Far less excuse for Utd fans singing the song about Wenger all these years....
