THE WENGER THREAD

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Or a statement of "who do I have to turn the game......oh yeah the fat Danish lump that nobody else wanted.....so I'll stick with the average French lump that nobody else wanted"
What I don't get is how he can look to the bench and say "who do I have to turn the game?" and not think Cazorla is worth a try  :?

Bloody hell, all the other creative players were struggling so why not give Santi a go? :?
Especially considering it's his time of year!! Alas, Steveo was right - Santi isn't coming.

I think he has already said that Ozil will be rested over Christmas and I think he wants Santi and Podolski fresh. To be honest Santi is being given a rough deal at the moment because our not needed £42m wonderboy has showen fuck all for quite a while now and never gets hauled off
He was subbed Vs Cardiff Marseille & Southampton I think, all near the end Steve

No subs in a game where our squad looked as though they had moonboots on  we had poldi and santi on the bench and ozil and giroud playing like we had 9men on the park  the man is a fucking clown  On talkshite a gooner phoned in straight after the game calling for his head :barscarf: jason coonty and the manc lover host told the guy "no way".The reason that pair say this is cos as long as Le bumhole is (mis)managing our great club we wont be in the hunt for trophies :banghead:

Journalists and pundits - especially those thick enough to work on the radio - love having Wenger in charge of Arsenal. Every season there's a guarantee things will nosedive and they'll smugly bash on about how we're fucking hopeless and how shit the last decade nearly has been and then with the inevitable bacon-saving streak (see what I did?) of good results will climb onto their pedestal and ridicule the fans who questioned him, ignoring their own smug comments. Get to stick the knife in about how we've won fuck all and Groundhog Season whilst still making us seem like ungrateful bastards.

Repeat ad infinitum.

this season has played out very well for Wenger.

all the big teams have dropped points and so Arsenal are within touching distance of the top despite still being as shit as ever.
although Wenger's aim is top 4, at the moment he can create the illusion that we are still in the title race.
the fact there are so many gullible people that buy into this is probably more worrying than the fact that Wenger is somehow still the manager

Havent you heard about the great progress we have made this season  Mind you our results against the other "top" sides makes very poor reading and they are having shit seasons themselves

AKB"s have gone awfully quiet now we're no longer top, and picked up 2 draws in four games....

we hate to say we told you so but we did.

this year and last year. and some of us the years before that.

A Manager is supposed to lead his players, not be carried by them.

you can stick a fork in Wenger, he is done. "go out and play" doesn't work with any normal team, or one not containing Dennis AND TH14...

This season so far has been a complete headfuck.
Defeat to Villa, then we clawed our way somehow to the top of the league. Some brilliant passages of play (home to Napoli etc), but generally inconsistent, then our usual capitulation to Manure and Citeeh (and the Chavs could easily have been added to that list), yet we're still equal top.

So what does the second half of the season auger?
An unbalanced team, lacking in pace and aggression. A single decent striker. Tactical ineptitude -------------- OR

Theo, Pod and the Ox back firing on all cylinders, Vermaellen back to his best. A super striker signing and a proper title challenge.

I suspect I know, but I still hope.

So many opportunities to progress. To strengthen. To win.
Thrown away in pursuit of the "project" or top four. Or due to stubbornness or incompetence.

This season is the best opportunity ever. It too will be thrown away like so many others.......

Drip, drip. Pathetic, predictable, demoralising shit.......
