Clutching at straws because of his own ineptitude. Why can't he just see the writing on the wall and fuck off?
Turnip:

Would you walk away from a multi-million pound per year contract, with the added bonus of being able to do basically whatever the fuck you like, where your only target is to not be quite as shit as 16 other teams?

No, but I have no morals or scruples and I know fuck all about football tactics. Wait.........
:)

I do this to myself every transfer window though. I always say 'this time I won't listen to his bullshit', but I made the mistake of reading the transcript of his recent press conference and had a blood pressure spike. :banghead: Combining that with the inevitability of a bumholing at the hands of City, and it's put me in a foul mood.

He also said a year or two back "We have Carl, who can play there" ooops, no we don't he's down at Upton Park learning his trade (perhaps we should have done that a year or so earlier )

"Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger says it would be a gamble if the Gunners did not to bring in a new defender this month but that his side would cope.

The Gunners have frequently been left short of defensive cover this season with the likes of Laurent Koscielny, Kieran Gibbs, Nacho Monreal and Mathieu Debuchy all suffering injuries.

"It is risky [not to sign anyone] - too risky," said Wenger.
"If we have another injury or two we will struggle."

Debuchy is expected to be out for another three months after surgery on his right shoulder, leaving Wenger with only six fit senior defenders at the club.
"We can cope because we have [Calum] Chambers, [Per] Mertesacker, Koscielny," said the Frenchman, whose side face Manchester City on Sunday.

"But we have now lost Debuchy who can play centre-back, Monreal who can play centre-back and Gibbs has been out too.

BUT!!! You DOZYTWAT They are NOT meant to play at CB - Not if you had done your job properly in the Summer Transfer window :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:

The Gunners have been linked with a number of central defenders in the January transfer window, including West Ham's Winston Reid and Borussia Dortmund's Mats Hummels, but Wenger says it is difficult to sign quality players.

Simple rule of economics......the value of something is determined by how much you need it - we need a quality DM and a quality CB so if we have to be over the going rate, then that is what we have to do. Again the selling prices will go up cos other clubs know that we are in desperate need of recruitments, but we are only in desperate need cos le cock reneged on doing his job up to this point in time - if he continues to refuse to meet the asking prices, then our need is only going to get bigger and in turn the asking prices will go up even higher. Its not rocket science you senile old pr.ck

Exactly this! I'm fucking fuming because of all those reasons we don't/won't or can't do something and Le Cock is solely the reason why we are in this situation in the first place.

Sort the fuck out these problems during summer transfer window and you don't need to moan and bitch in January about how hard and difficult it is.

His 'come back in June or July' comment really pisses me off.

Why didn't you buy a central defender in June or July then??!

SSN asking the question which player will be best signing of January ..Bony , Defoe and that bloke Leicester bought along with Sanogo are the options....At the moment Sanogo has 51% of the vote... Gooners all over the world are delirious after today and are taking the piss or 51% of the voters are Gooners who believe the Sanogo deal is the best of January ...for Arsenal.

Apparently we are after Gabriel Paulista from Villareal according to player himself. Does anybody know anything about this lad?

If the Winston Reid rumours are true I wouldn't be surprised to see Jenks go the other way permanently as part of the deal.
