As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.
I will say it again, Ozil and Flamini good signings.
The keeper might be, who knows?
But our defence is scarily short at either right back or centre back, and the stunning omittance is striker.
It simply is not good enough that we have not strenghthened to compete for the title, it is winnable this season but now I fear Chelsea will win the double.
augie wrote:As I suggested earlier, the Ozil deal has all the hallmarks of a pr deal by wenker and the club - you don't even have to leave this forum to see proof of Gooners going into climax mode on the back of 1 signing If signing ozil was part of a challenging for trophies strategy then his signing would have been accompanied by at least 2 other quality players but instead we sign ozil, postman pat, flamoney and a keeper from serie b
Wenger's new contract is a step closer. Look at the comments already from Gazidis
f*ck knows what you're gonna do for your BBQ coz Ozil is a vegetarian!
Disappointed in no striker or CB (or decent GK..) but I'd never be fucked off about signing a world-class player.
And on the plus side I didn't once see that twitchy bastard leaning out a car window saying 'triffic'!
Ok lets deal with the plusses and minuses of the transfer window
PLUSSES
1. We haven't pissed away the usual €8m-€14m on average wankers from Ligue 1
2. We have signed one of the best attacking midfielders in world football
3. At least we have some competition for Chesney and not in the form of that useless cock Flapper
4. At least we have some level of cover for Arteta even though I'm not as convinced as the masses about Flamoney
MINUSES
1. We are desperately short up front and failed miserably to attract anything like a top class striker to the club despite having started to pursue Higuain months ago
2. We have 2 fit regular centre halves for the next few weeks
3. We've only had a net spend of just over £30m - well below the supposed reported 'war chest'
The Arsenal and Manure, 2 of the biggest clubs in the country and they both will end up with players they don't need and cocked up sorting out their problem areas out-f**king-standing
