THE WENGER THREAD

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

As I said in another thread, other than when I had banter with Augie and called him a *word censored* none of my posts have actually involved a direct insult. If mine are worth 4 then his must be worth 10 in this thread alone. Ah but then he is anti-Wenger. It's all agenda driven here.

Yea steveo...
How come you are now allowed to post that, and bbq posts?
Does this mean Im allowed to criticise Wenger again without being told to "just enjoy the moment and stop moaning"? :rubchin:

You need to be careful what you wish for you ungrateful bastard ! Remember if we spend 30m of the 70m+ available free cash on a striker we'll end up like these

Oh yeah I know some of the players were at the end but still we terminated the contracts of Chamakh, Denilson and wasn't Andre Santos also released? We also sold Gervinho.

We've added much needed "proven" talent over the last few years (Arteta, Mertesacker, Cazorla, Podolski, Flamini, Ozil etc etc) whereas in the past would have instead signed young players with potential.

We finally went out and signed a massive name in world football with Ozil. Would these things have happened in the years before? I personally don't see it.
I agree with everything you've said and you have highlighted some of the reasons that re-enforce my opinion why Wenger should have been sacked years ago.

How many points/trophys has he thrown away by failing to get rid of the shit? By rewarding them with lucrative, extended contracts? By not buying some "proven talent" and strengthing the squad year on year? By instead signing "young players with potential"?

So now he has supposedly turned his back on his "project" and failed "socialist wage policy" and signed Ozil, (although I dont believe Wenger signed Ozil. I believe he was a marquee signing to boost falling season tickets) Mert Arteta, Poldi. I wouldnt put Flamini in that bracket as he was a free that fell into his lap ffs.
Are we supposed to now #flipflop and laud him as a genuis again after begging him for years to do these things?

Are we supposed to call for a new bumper contract for him on the strength that "we are top of the league right now and might win something this time" Like so many keep saying every fukin year - judge him in May?

Been there. Done that. :(

Does anyone have actual proof Ozil wasnt a wenger buy/ choice ,i know i have no proof to say if he was or not.Seems to be a stupid thing to claim when theres no proof to suggest he was or wasnt a wenger buy. :rubchin:
