Guendouzi off to Marseille by all accounts, for £12m, which seems a bit low but I guess we needed to get shot of him.

You think that we should accept less for the swiss captain who is an experienced international, then we will get for nketieh and pillock ??

We need to be pragmatic. Players are only worth what people are prepared to pay for them.augie wrote: ↑Mon May 31, 2021 9:07 pm

NEW: Arsenal and Olympique Marseille are “very” close to finding an agreement for the permanent transfer of Matteo Guendouzi. [@le10sport]

According to Mark Irwin, Mat Ryan is set to complete a free transfer to #Arsenal from Brighton after a successful six-month loan spell at the Emirates. https://t.co/gb720kDrFs

Depends on who you mean by "WE" - if you are talking about the fans then no I am not happy to see guendouzi go. If you are talking about the club then I dont see Mari going anywhere cos he is an arteta signing and I dont see pep's cone boy getting rid - I would actually go so far as to say that pep's cone boy see's him and holding as his first choice partnership. Personally I would see him as a squad player and no more than that

You Know that, and I know that, but there are managers and clubs around europe who still rate this useless c.unt. Hard to fathom I know, but the guy is an experienced international and captain of his country, so his value should be higher than nketieh who has barely played

Re: ALL Transfer talk - merged thread
I think most of them (the intelligent ones anyway) would probably see him as a squad player. Then there's the fact he's no spring chicken and is unlikely to improve or develop past where he is now as a player, whereas the two kids have at least the potential to develop into top players - as unlikely as that is for either of them tbh.augie wrote: ↑Tue Jun 01, 2021 8:06 amDB10GOONER wrote: ↑Tue Jun 01, 2021 8:01 amOf course we should. Re: ALL Transfer talk - merged thread
He's just not suited to Premier League football, in a slower paced league like Italy or Spain he would be quite acceptable but none of the clubs there have a sou to spend so any offer will be minimal to say the least.
Arsenal generated nearly 20% of their total income from matchday in the last last season before lockdown, which makes them vulnerable financially to an extended period without matches taking place. Apparently it stands at about !5% of it's income which could easily be converted to a transfer budget.
We are not alone , none of the clubs in Europe are immune to this apart from the oil rich , money laundering ones and they are not in the hunt for the likes of Xhaka ,Kolasinac , Guendouzi or Willian . So I would not be looking at shedding the players you want out , if we are to raise money from transfers we will have to sell the family silver.

Re: ALL Transfer talk - merged thread
I know there’s some big Guendouzi fans on this forum but given that he’s available for a bargain basement fee, it’s quite revealing that not a single big club appears to be in for him
