I find that I'm even envious of West Ham. Ok, so they lost 1-5 at Ipswich, but they signed Ravel Morrison on loan and Bristol City striker Nicky Maynard!!!!! Oh that we had signed a striker.....!

So the window closed as we knew it would. Another one of our players who Arsene predicted would have an impact this season with his special talent, has been packed off on loan, and we signed a 19 year old that nobody has ever heard of.

The most significant non-event by far was the failure to sign a striker and so we enter the busiest part of the season having to play RvP in every single match in order to have any hope and praying that he doesn't get injured. So, I think of all the cuts that the Self Harmer has made this one is by far the deepest.

We sold our most creative players in the Summer and our brightest talent was injured as far back as July. There have been ample opportunities in both windows to sign a Goetze type talent.

Maryanne the non-scoring Camel, a man so poor that a Morocco side eliminated by Gabon dropped him, and Super Quality Park are the sole striking options that we have in reserve come the end of February.

The defence is still looking like a patchwork quilt, has players without the physical attributes to cope with the PL demands and consist of players who are constantly "two maybe three weeks away"

In a nutshell, this is the worst Arsenal squad since the mid-90s for all of those reasons. We can all see it, the media can see it, ex-players and management can see it.

If RvP gets injured there is no excuse for the collapse that follows. It isn't 'special circumstances', as it is more likely to happen at some point rather than not. My bet is that it happens pre-Milan and we go into the last sixteen round of the CL with Maryanne or SQ as a lone striker in the San Siro.

I hope everyone remembers this window together with the shambolic Summer when they start to have those goldfish brain thoughts in April and May (as per the last four seasons) where "this time he'll sort it out", "there'll be a clearout", "we'll bring in more experienced players" etc etc

He didn't do any of that the last umpteen times and he hasn't done it again despite now having a squad, that RvP apart, is no better than Newcastle United's.

Oh well, Arsene knows. I hope his life becomes as fucking miserable as sin between now and May

To truly become a mod, you must never want to become a mod. The job chooses you. 8)

Okay - I have no explanation whatsoever for how Hlebby got the job but I believe the words "will", "suck" and "cock" were in bold on the cover of his CV.

Wow...that is a very good posting which even brings a bloke like me, who has not been involved very much in your club so far, up to speed.

I'm just wondering what the strategy of the management is, while reading this analysis. Running a bank is not an option to running a football club, or  ?

Best wishes,
Thomas

P.S.: Deadline day sees differing deals in Bundesliga, Premier League

Tomas... The problem with the management is that they basically give Wenger free rein, which is not at all a good thing. As they say 'absolute power corrupts absolutely'. They are happy to make money, but are also happy to give all profits to Wenger to spend, as Gazidis (the CEO) confirmed on Sunday on TV. Unfortunately, he either fails to spend it, or spends it badly on massive wages for average players, which then means we can't sell them, and inflated transfer fees for bad players.

The other problem with the board and the club in general is that they do not seem to listen to the fans, or care about the small things that matter to us; making the stadium feel like home, improving the atmosphere, that sort of thing.

Hi SWLGooner,
Well I think I understand the first part of your posting while reading the comments about Wenger and Management. If the management wants to make profit ok...nothing is worst like a football club (company) which runs into dept and out of business.

BUT the management and the coach have to understand that you have to INVEST to get PROFIT out of a football club, like a company has to invest to stay in the market and make profit. So the club has also to invest into the squad to keep the team up in the top positions. It is all about balance.

I think we are on the same line

Cheers,
Thomas
