Abou Diaby - Injuries Thread

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

I fear we'll never now see the full extent of the great man's ability again

Should we have a special thread to honour all of his greatest moments?
Great idea SteveO. I've got a spare 15 seconds - that should be more than enough time!!

I bet his bank manager's happy though . . . . .

You could make a video compilation and use the end of season bbq to host the premiere.

  :barscarf:

They got that shirt made in 2006 and they just keep it hanging in that space for when they need it every few weeks.

You mean they've been wearing this for every game since 2006, except about 10 games he's started in 7 years

feel for the lad, so unfortunate, could have been a great player but i think he should unfortunately hang his boots up, whats the point of playing 1-2 games and then missing the next 10?

thing is that pic some us up,there is no way you would see any of our current crop sticking there head in there like terry, hence why chavski have won shed loads and we've won fark all.still nice to see diaby taking Terrys head off tho :D
Disagree. I think Jenkinson and Mertesacker would gladly stick their noggin where it hurts. 8)
Really? :? Mertesacker has taken to trying to chest down every ball rather than head it, I presume such is his fear of hurting his poor little head with the bit of leather full of air!!
I'll have you know that Mertesacker broke his nose and eye socket on two separate occasions while playing in Germany, so clearly bloke doesn't lack for bravery, or maybe Wenger turned him into a fanny...hmm there's a thought.

Poor lad only earning £3 million plus per year for doing absoloutely fuck all. There's sick pay and there's paying this deadbeat until 2015 when he's clearly not delivering.

Check out the messages of support on Pravda, a bigger collection of muppets you couldn't wish to see.

Begs the question really...

Total Number of minutes played Vs Wages earned???

£'s per minutes worked out from that.

(I read somewhere back before this season had started he had earned 27 mil in wages during his career with arsenal  )

I did not know that and it would perhaps explain his reluctance to stick his head in as often as one would expect from a big, bruising centre-half (as would Wenger turning him into a fanny!!) .

Still, heading is a big part of a defender's armoury and I've seen situations in matches where he's put the team in jeapardy because he hasn't done the straight forward thing. If he can't/won't do it then one has to consider whether he warrants his place in the team (although I realise that our lack of competition/talent in that position means his selection is almost a necessity, despite all his apparent faults).  :banghead:

this isn't a dig, but I just read Wenger's "manager's email" (always goes to my "spam" box because it's full of s**t but anyway)

"I hope he will find the resources and the strength to come back, because he was quite down. He is 26 years old and has had four or five big surgeries. That demands a lot of mental strength to come back and I hope he will not give up and will continue."

maybe for him, this is the straw that broke the camel's back?

His mindset and his ankle has never been the same since this incident. Was it the same ankle smashed at sunderland later that season?
its the same ankle but the john terry incident was 9 months after the dan smith 1
