Do you like your job?

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Bloody love my job.
Used to be an office manager. Got fed up with politics. Went into stonemasonry, restoring old buildings. Loved it, but too much travelling. Had my own businesses for many years. Enjoyable, but stressful. And very little time off.
Now I work direct for a public school, as a carpenter.
Varied work. Get asked for all manner of things. Recently designed and built a bloody great revolving stage for the theatre.
I get six weeks holiday a year. No politics. No stress. Good pay. Job is secure. And only two miles from home, along a nice country lane.
And I NEVER get that "Monday morning feeling". :D

Nah. That's just part time.

You couldn't sit next to Cowdell for a whole week, and not punch his lights out.

But for the last 10 years i have been working 9-5 mon to fri i love it.Now i can go on the beer after work and not worry about getting up early next morning.I work for HM Goverment
Im a postman, have been for 9 years, hated it for 8 years but the last year I've loved it as I'm a PHG now so once Ive done my work in the first couple of hours I get to sit around on my mobile phone/internet waiting for people to come up for packets.

Never thought I'd love work but do love my job now.

Sorry to hear that Southampton. Hope something turns up mate.

It's pretty widespread. People here are losing their jobs like crazy. I am very lucky being a CS, as they can't get rid of us. Scary thing was we had 20 people "re-allocated" (read forcibly transfered) to Social Welfare last week to help them cope with the huge influx of people on the dole...

Our Central Statistics Office states the seasonally adjusted figure of unemployed people stands at 293,500. A year ago it stood at 172,400 - a staggering 70% increase over those 12 months alone. This is the first time in over 10 years we've hit the 250,000 mark. At the moment we are losing between 1000 and 1500 jobs a week... in October 2008 we lost an average of 3000 a week... :(
