I'd argue Arshavin was bought on debt, knowing we would offload Adebayor so Arshavin should be added to the total.

Even if that is true, that would still leave us with CASH TO SPEND

Arshavin to Sydney FC.

Rumour strengthened by the fact that Sydney's owner once owned Zenit.

Your joking? What about the monies accrued previously from the sell-on clauses for Bentley, Diarra. The transfers of Hleb, Gilberto and the wage salary decrease from the departures of Flamini and Lehmann. We have a five year cumulative profit in transfers leading up to and including the last transfer window so why would the transfer budget see AA bought from debt???

I remember a meeting between Gazidis and AW at the end of last season and it being generally reported our budget was £25 million this summer. While not huge this was thought to be ok for our needs of a dm and cb (and a golakeeper if ever optimistic).

We have since netted £41m and a vast saving in wages for the two that have gone. We have spent £10m. Add the orignial budget of £25m to the net gain and there should be £56million to spend this afternoon. :barscarf:

I'd be surprised if there was £5.6m to spend :D

I think Adebayor was paid around £40m in the last year.

Plus red paint for the concourse was around £10m (including B&Q trade discount)

From Lambros, via text on 81111: "I'm a security guard at Highbury House and I just saw Blaise Matuidi enter with an entourage. He's apparently just had a medical and heading upstairs to sign his contract. You heard it here first."
