AND IRELAND WILL PLAY........

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Looks like FAI about to do a u-turn on decision to throw Derry City out of the LOI, hope to fuck they do it before Saturdays game, so I can cheer the lads on with no ill-feeling.

Anybody know if Wednesday's game is on in the UK? My normally reliable website doesn't have it listed which tends to imply it ain't on. :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:

the fff stil have not sold the tv rights which is why its not listed, sky and rte have made an offer which has been rejected so we now wait to see what will happen.
chances are now that tv3 over here will step in with a bigger offer which might mean it wont be on in the uk.

In slightly unrelated news...New Zealand just qualified for the World Cup with a 1-0 win over Bahrain.

So whoever else doesn't qualify will have to carry the shame of not participating in a World Cup in which New Zealand is even involved... :?

You should come in Paris for the second leg!
There's many Pubs where you could watch the game.

Without wishing to upset the Potato Pickers on here, I really hope the French go through. They are a much more credible footballing nation and the World Cup would be better for their inclusion. Whilst I agree the Irish fans make a good comedy spectacle for the tv companies who like to pan round and show lots of pissed up paddies wearing leprachuan hats and their team will play with a damn site more pride and passion than the England team, the World Cup Finals needs the BIG teams there and France are one of those teams.

At the end of the day Rebel, if you were a neutral like most of us, would you rather watch Slavia Prague vs. Standard Liege in a CL quarter final, or Barcelona vs. Inter Milan? - if you would rather watch the latter (as most would!) then I'm sure you can understand why the world cup would be worse off without a super power like France instead of Ireland.

I'll smile if Ireland win, but come the World Cup I'd rather watch the likes of France, Spain and Argentina than Saudi Arabia, Egypt and Ireland... I'm a football fan, after all!

Good luck though mate.... it's a game I'm looking forward to, and I'm sure most of Ireland can't wait!

In all honesty, usually I would be happy to watch the French lose but I hardly lose any sleep when the republic lose either.

So, the fact that the french have TH, Willy, sagna and the irish have pikey keane means the french just about get my support for this one

Sorry lads
