Can i suggest USMartin that you stop posting about the board and maybe have a break for a couple of days from the forum. The abuse youre getting is becoming relentless from a growing number of people and i think you'd be better off starting again in some way

+ 1.

I know to some degree usmartin is bringing this abuse on himself but for me it has reached a ridiculous level of abuse now and should be halted. It is no better than cyber-bullying as far as I am concerned
Disagree, Augie.

And for good reasons. USM has been highly abusive to myself and others.

If you can't take it, then you shouldn't dish it out.

It's not bullying of Martin. It's a reaction to downright, and undeserved, rudeness.

I think there has been over reaction on all sides dont you think there has to be a point whereby someone like you kev steps back and says Martin you talking rubbish and i wont reply to you again instead of the constant digging? after which he digs back then you dig back and so on. I do think there is a ganging up mentality going on here to a degree and i wish it would all stop

As one who took a year off from here because of stuff I felt was beyond acceptable, I am definitely not keen on what might be seen as "Cyber Bullying".

But USMartin was crossing those lines himself.

He has to either post in a more respectful way, or expect the flack he has been getting.

A few of us managed to have an intense and lengthy thread about the Middle East a few months ago. That is a more serious issue than whether or not the Board messed up by redeveloping Highbury rather than selling it. If the Middle East goes up in flames there could be nukes flying round and no more Arsenal!

Unlike the Board threads, a few of us had friends and family who have died in the conflict, on both sides.
Yet that Middle East thread stayed respectful despite strong differences of opinion.

If constructive, eloquent and interesting posters such as OlgitGooner, G88ner, LDB, STG, MM99, AA23Northbank and others are giving USMartin grief, then something has to be wrong with how Martin posts.

as i said on a thread yesterday i think there is a ganging up element to it all now. Lets face it its only words on a football forum we all shout worse to Rooney, Torres, Lampard or Defoe on a Saturday and now we are suddenly deeply hurt by a few words written by someone who doesnt even know us?????? Come on......

I just think its time for someone to step away from the digging maybe you, maybe Martin and lets ignore board threads or tit threads whatever takes your fancy because all this is getting tedious IMO

I can give as I good as I get and have no complaints about whatever I get so long as its honest and fair. I'm not a victim here but I find it pathetic and embarssing that you treat yourselves as victims.

I love this list - it's very instructive. Remove G88ner who by the waty has stated on this forun he supports the petition and the goals behind it, and every one of those people is passionate supporters of the Board and extremely hostile toward any criticism of it as far as I have seen. they stuts the Board and its motives and virtually any instance to a man. They cannot say they are objective any more than they would suggest I can, the difference being I have demonstrated a willingness to be far more objective than I have seen any of them display and certainly than I have encountered from them.

As for G88ner I have stated my respect to him for his objectivity and even-handed approach to each and every one of us in this ongoing debate even when facing his criticism. He is someone I have nothing but the utmost respect for even when he and i may strongly - but respectfully - disagree. With all due respect he has shown himself to be more objective and even handed than the others on your list put together, whether he is standing with me or slating me. Indeed we all could learn a lot - myself included - from g88ner.

But make no mistake my conflict with the rest of that list is not personal. It's about their deep opposition to my views and in turn my refusal to just appease them with silence. There's no trans-Atlantic cultural gap or misunderstanding here. We understand each other very well.

Seriously Martin

Your above post just shows what a chump you are.

That list of posters is not necessarily such big advocates of the board.

They just do not like the way you post.

It is not about the board. It is about YOU.

I think this is the closest i've come to being in a gang

In all seriousness though, unless a different topic/significant new angle, i have given up engaging USmartin. It inevitably ends with him accusing you of trying to censor him and/or being obsessed with defending the board for the purposes of self gratification (ironic isnt it?).

By the way have you figured how say Belfast boy was absolutely right to point out waht is happening at Liverpoll is saying he was wrong to? I really am curious about that or was that rant you're way of avoiding explaining how you came to that original conclusion?
Well, 1) you can't spell, and 2) if Liverpool weren't taken over by The Yanks there wouldn't have been the crazy spending as the club was well run and living within their means until then. The Yank, debt-leavered ownership model has failed at Liverpool and is close to at Manure and I don't want to see it anywhere near our football club, so there :finger:
Forgive me but other than my spelling  and lack of obscene gesture I think I was actually making a similar if not the same point you made above
USMartin wrote: What about Liverpool, Belfast Boy? Are you suggesting that had their ownership not irresponsibly sold out to a takeover group utlizing debt leverage which has been put on the club's books that they would be in the exact same position they are in now and for the excat same reasons they are in it?

That is an absolutely critical question for us as well as them not only in terms of investment philosophy but in terms of what happens to Arsenal going forward in terms of ownership. I think you are absolutely right to point out what is happening at Liverpool, but I'm afraid you do so for the wrong reasons.
again

I can't help but ask are you attacking me simply because of my overall views because you clearly aren't actually reading what I am saying. After all you accused fo saying BB was wrong to point out Liverpool's difficulties in reply to this
USMartin wrote: I think you are absolutely right to point out what is happening at Liverpool
What's up because while we disagree on a number of points it makes little sense to argue when in fact we are agreeing on something :?: :?:
