We will get raped! Its going to be over by half time. CHavs are way to strong for us. To be honest i cant think of many player on player battles we can win on Sunday.

We're pessimistic because the same things keep happening every season. Chelsea and Man Ure have stuffed us over and over and over again since 06 / 07 but our manager and "superstars" don't seem to learn.

At this level, sport is as much mental as it is physical - those 2 teams are (sadly) way ahead of us when it comes to mental strength and adapting as matches unfold.

Men against boys as it usually is when we play them, 2-0 or 3-0 to them

Our fanny fits them like a glove, mainly cos Drogba’s moulded it that way & as well as we may play you can just imagine at key moments we'll shoot ourselves in the foot & they'll be ruthless in taking advantage. Same old.

From what I saw of the City game what they did well was approach the game with a specific game plan (that they stuck to throughout), stay disciplined with their defensive shape, take just about the only chance they created & match the Chavs physically, especially in the middle of the park. But for us to do even one of those things would be a borderline miracle, never mind all of them. Chelsea don’t have all that much guile, if you don’t let them steamroller you they’re far from formidable. Unfortunately we’re pretty much Tina Turner to their Ike - maybe even more so now that Essien’s back. :worried:

And that's before even bringing Flappy into the equation.

So I’ll go for an Arsenal win! 2-1. :barscarf:
Tiina Turner to their Ike - OUCH, literally

But I do share your concerns completely
Tina did fight back eventually though. Anyone remember a couple of years back when we played them, off the back of two dismal performances at home to Villa and away to Citeh. Never have I felt so pessamistic going into a game but we did them 2-1. Head says we'll get tonked but hearts says we may do them 2-1 with a Chamack double

After a great result in the week it's given me a bit of hope but when you really look at it we just don't have the players to cope with this lot, no vermaelan (who is our only defender that can defend properly!) Cesc will only be half fit, no RVP and no theo! it's the same as last year i'm afraid 2-0 the chavs with dog breath getting both. :(

I do fear that he is too slow and will get exposed by Anelka and Drogba. However with TV's continued absence, we'll have no choice but to go with him and Kos.

He may not have been at fault for any of the THREE goals at the weekend but the fact is he's playing in a defence that is frankly shit! When do we ever keep a clean sheet? even with vermaelan at the back we still look ropey at set pieces and in general don't look comfortable. Look at last nights game we nearly conceded two against the mighty partizan belgrade! Against better sides we will get mullered just like last year.

Squillaci is the most physically equipped CB we've got to deal with Dogbreath. He's aggressive and fearless as well so I'm sure Dogbreath won't have it so easy this time round.

Agreed mate and imo it's collective rather than individual, which is down to lack of defensive training as all Turnip focuses on is how to pass in triangles and play tippy tappy without ever shooting at goal.
