I can accept a player being crap, that's the manager's fault for buying him and if he puts his all into it he can get away with ala Flamini,Kuyt and probably others out there. If a player loses form we can allow it for a while because it happens but the lack of effort, combined with lack of talent of a couple of players is not on.TheCook wrote:The point I am trying to make is that if, IF, we lose at home to Everton tonight, the perceived reasons for this will be that we did not buy anyone during the transfer window, and the manager is a c**t and the board are all wankers.
When we used to lose a game in the 80s, 90s or 00s, wasn't the reaction more of 'We played shit last night, and I am really disappointed', and that would be that, and then look ahead to the next game?
Instead now there is always a scapegoat, and it's the same old reasons and the forum is in meltdown.
There were plenty points in those decades where there were issues with the board, managers, certain players, money spent etc, but we didn't go around demanding vengeance and calling for heads to roll.
Football is supposed to be fun, and following the Arsenal a mighty craic, when did everybody get so serious?
The money probably has a lot to do with it, the fact that we spend a lot to support The Arsenal and the club is loaded yet hold on to clearly limited personnel that bring nothing to the club(Denilson,Almunia and Eboue).
It's not being serious it's just like a case of a parent that knows their child can do better but they can't be arsed to get off their lazy backside to put the effort in......

despite having one days less rest
we should be a lot fresher than Everton
guessing we'll play:
Chesnay
Sagna Djourou Kos Clichy
Song Wilshere
Cesc
Walcott RVP Arsh
Only Kos and AA started (although Cesc came on)
They will play 8-10 of the same players that started v Chelski. Main change would be Jags back from longterm injury anyway.
I'm therefore hoping they won't be able to harry for 90mins. Patience could be key - that said I would love an early goal.

When 50p is going out of your pocket, and it's actually fun to sing and support a team who although are being paid more, are not in another universe, then ok, different perspective to £50 being paid to players who wouldn't cross the street to spit on you if you were on fire, in a soulless stadium, inhabited by people incapable of opening their mouth and singing properly, or at least vocally getting behind the team.
A little venting of the spleen on here or in the pub surely doesn't hurt (or barely) affrect anyone, so what's the problem?
