I'm not sure I can ever look at you the same way again, marc.

Actually the story came from "Stade 2" a tv show on french tv about sport.
Here's a link and a video (Im not sure you can watch it tho):

Cant see there being any truth in this. Rosicky on his own couldnt throw the game since there was absolutely no guarantee that the lad would start or even come on. Seems a waste of time trying to bribe him if he might not even get the chance to follow it through. Its a big risk to take and you would need to target someone you knew would play
Even if a player was bribed, I doubt one could do it on his own, but its obvious Dowd wasnt involved because, if he was, he could have easily enough "chatted" to the linesman after Best's goal and overruled him, letting the goal stand, so people thinking he might be involved because he gave a dodgy penalty and was shit with the Diaby/ Nolan incidents are probably wrong
Rosicky was shit when he came on, but he didnt do enough wrong to make me think he was throwing the game at all, and Tiote's goal was unstoppable, nothing anyone could have done about that. Wasnt thrown at all, Arsenal just got sloppy and were on the wrong end of a couple of bad decisions

Thinking about this "Scandal", it is quite probable that there is truth in a lot of money being bet on the game whilst it was in progress, on the online spread-betting markets.
Shrewd punters (is that an oxymoron?!) would know Arsenal struggle to hold onto a lead, and once it went to 4-2 could have had a flutter on a Newcastle comeback.
To link it to Rosicky and Dowd is far fetched, but I await developments, and they do say that nothing in football should surprise you.

Aye, we really need to see some figures before going along with the allegations. If money goes on at 4-2 then it wouldnt be surprising- Arsenal arent renowned for seeing games out and are down to ten men, always a chance of a draw. If, however, a lot of money went on at 4-0 then there might well be something in it because at that point it was like a training game for the Arsenal and no sane person would have bet on anything other than an Arsenal winQuartzGooner wrote:Thinking about this "Scandal", it is quite probable that there is truth in a lot of money being bet on the game whilst it was in progress, on the online spread-betting markets.
