The more i watch this Chelski side the more i find it hard to believe how poor they have become relative to the personnel they have at their disposal..
They seem to have lost their way as a team and there are a number of individuals who are just not performing anywhere near their best..They are beginning to look like the Milan side that Ancellotti left behind...
As much as i hate to give underperforming players any defence, when there are so many not performing to potential and the team is underperforming as a unit you can't look any further than the manager.
As far as we are concerned long may Ancellotti continue at Chelski, but i would be shocked if Abramovich didn't replace him this summer..
To be fair he won double last year and was running away with the league until he was undermined by letting the baldy crab go.
I Hate Hleb wrote:Phew, what a relief!!! Yet another opportunity has passed for Chelsea to win the CL before us. I'd had a horrible feeling since the first leg that Chelsea were going to turn it around and win this match 2-1 - much like against us in 2004. When Drogba scored I was shitting myself - well, for 30 seconds!!
This is a good result for us for a further 2 reasons: a) United play a semi 3 days before playing us; b) there are 2 extra games for United players to get tired or injured (Rio looks like he damaged himself tonight).
The chavs got to go there again too, a chance for revenge for them. God dammit I'm getting that hopeful feeling again.
I can live with reality, it's the hope that kills me.

Yep..but even last year you could see a bit of a deterioration in their game and now that has progressed to the point where they look like a shadow of the side they were and should be...I don't think it's a coincidence that they have noticeably dropped since Wilkins left, which is all the more reason you have to look at Ancellotti as not being up to the job...
Thought Chavs were better team tonight but so toothless up front. Arsenal to sign Torres in the Summer !! United's fans are the most arrogant *word censored* in football and that "we do what we want " chant sums them up...
I don't even think them being toothless up front is their main problem, although it's hard to fathom why all their forwards seem to have become so impotent... They used to steamroller teams with power and pace with a bit of quality mixed in..now they don't seem to have that power or pace and they struggle to string more than a handful of passes together and lack creativity around the box...
The thing that also impressed me was the pace at which United break forward, much like we used to and contrary to how we do now - barring the odd exception. And that Henandez - I remember seeing him for Mexico when he had signed but had yet to play for United and saying how impressed I was with his performance and pace.
What annoys me after watching both last weeks game and tonights is that we are so much a better football team than both of them, even with just a couple of our weak spots strengthened well...we would piss all over both of them...

I can see the thinking, but a part of me thinks that your summary is too simplistic.
man u's workrate, teamwork, pace and detrmination aren't something that we can neccessarily just counter by sorting out a couple of weak spots. Unless those are absolute fundamentals like a change in the atttitude and approach of our team, and the manager's ethos.
Otherwise, we're just comparing player against player, and still scratching our nuts wondering why we can't beat a team that contains John O'Shea.

Yea your right...but strengthening our weak spots well, for me, would be a couple of players with the right attitude and character as well as ability, not a couple of lightweight shrinking violets to add to our legion of same... Of course as you say the managers whole ethos would have to change just for that to happen...
Ancelotti wet the bed tonight starting Torres he was awful and when Drogba came on he was instantly better and proved to be a handful for United's defence. Cant understand why on earth when they were 2-0 down in the tie did Ancelotti move from a 4-4-2 to a 4-5-1 or at best a 4-4-1-1 by replacing Anelka with Kalou The red card was a little harsh on Chelsea it wasnt a booking but then again with that little cheatin shit Nani rolling around like was has been shot yet again didnt help Ramires at all.
Barriecuda wrote:United are looking in absolute quality form heading into the title run-in and more importantly, the game at Arsenal. Scary.
But, hopefully this third front will take some of the legs out of Rooney, Hernandez, Giggs and the rest. Fucking Nani is such a diving little prick.
They are in form yeah but they are a bad side it has to be said. They were dominated first half and in the first leg they are by any means a poor side compared to other ones fergie has put out and even the Chelsea sides of years past.
