Agree 100% Defoe could be excellent with the number of chances we create (and often fail to put away when RVP isn't there!)...also he's a Gooner since boyhood.Lee1 wrote:At the risk of the wrath,we clearly need another goal scorer- Defoe is openly talking about needing to play if he want's to go to the euros - why not him?
Have just heard on Radio 5Live that both Anelka and Alex have put in transfer requests - we could afford both of them and they can still 'do a decent job' for us in their cosen positions!

Fair point.AFCWozza wrote:And when that fucking absolute wanker of a man gets his contract at his next club he'll turn straight back into that lazy shit attitude player we all know. Wouldnt give him the time of day, would rather play with a center back up front that see that tosser back in our team1989 wrote:I knew you'd bite.augie wrote:1989 wrote:This might sound controversial but should never have sold Adebayor.

Anyway, Adebayor is heaps better than Chamuck and the dog eater and if you look past the baggage and laziness/shit attitude (no worse than the fat Russian) he's actually a quality striker. Having him as back up to RvP would have been perfect.
I loved him when he was here tbh and it pains me to see him playing well and scoring for the scum.

What about his wages? I'd say he is on a nice wage and wont drop like Arteta reportedly didTeeCee wrote:Anelka could be available for 4m it's reported. Would not be a bad option at that price to be honest. I'd still rather we laid out the cash for a top drawer striker but we know that won't happen. Anelka is still 50 times the player Chamslack or Park are.
He forgot Diaby.armchair supporter wrote:+1 especially - Arseshavin.RioGooner wrote:If our only actions in the market are to lay useless shit off, i'd be reasonably happy. Get Arshavin, Chamakh, Squillashit, Almunia off the books.

frankly, if we rid ourselves of all that shit there, and got in a proven striker (wouldn't say no to Anelka) then I'd be happier.

How much do you reckon he'd go for mate? And does he play as an out & out striker for Koln? Any time I've seen him for Germany he's been out on the left.arseofacrow wrote:2 goals for top transfer target Lukas Podolski as the ever useless FC Koln snatched a 2-2 draw in Stuttgart with a last minute equaliser from the aformentioned German international.

Saw this on his wikipedia too…
Köln created a website where people were able to buy pixels of an image of Lukas Podolski for €25 per 8x8 pixel square, in order to gather €1 million to reduce the cost of the transfer.

Surprised we haven't resorted to doing this yet. Imagine how much the club could have recouped selling pixels of Gervinho’s forehead.
