THE "I WAS THERE" THREAD

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

I was there when Arsenal drew 0-0 with Derby at Highbury. Taribo West had a blinder.

Unforgetable that game.

Stuttgart pre-season a few years back. Must have been 70 Arsenal. And we won.

Hannover pre-season the season after. Loads of Scottish squaddies turned up and got pissed up. Nothing better than Germany in pre-season.

COUGH, COUGH.

If we are also remembering tragic games / trips
1991 cup semi at Wembley, we lost that double feeling
Wrexham FA Cup 1992 :banghead:
Luton League cup final 1988 on my birthday :banghead:
Oldham away 1991 league cup ? :banghead:

or 3 days spent on a coach to watch us lose away v Austria Vienna back in 1991, when we had won the home leg 5-1. The coach (travel club) had a police escort that wouldn't let us stop till Germany / Austria so all disembarked to queue for the traps and it was the most unpleasant toilet stop of my life !

We lost to Chelsea in the carling cup in Cardiff, arrived at half time due to train problems, missing Walnuts goal. Saw Drogba get the winner and then spent the next 6 hours again trying to get home again.
Probably the shittest day ever.

But best ever was
Ian wright breaking scoring record
Tony Adams netting the 4th against Everton to win league
revenge at wembley against spurs (Tony again)
Last game of the invincibles against Leicester
Lee Dixon's own goal from 35 yards

All time worse game in the mid ninties agianst Wimbledon 0-0 trully shit.

I went to every home game under Don Howe :0(

Adams home debut, bergkamps first two goals, henrys goal against manyoo, freddies first goal, wrightys record, Man U 3-1 in 1991, Nayim from the halfway line, Adams goal v Everton, merse's free-kick v Liverpool, Brady's last game, West Ham final 1980, Liverpool at Cardiff, the first game after hillsborough v Norwich, Mariners debut, Sheffield utd fa cup tie that was later replayed for sportsmanship, Jimmy carters debut, seaman defying Arsenal at loftus road, that West ham game where we had 18 shots on target in the first half and only led 1-0....

Many more over the last 33 years.
