just did that political compass thing- as expected I'm pretty much in the middle but a bit more right wing than left and a bit more authoritarian than libertarian. I always end up in the middle on these things because I think its daft to follow one specific way of thinking- I'm conservative on some things and liberal on others, I tend to take each issue at its own merits

Problem with that political compass thing is that its very america-centric, it decides your political position on your responses to issues that just aren't that big in British discourse.

Having said that, it still manages to pin me as a slightly authoritarian mid-range right winger so it cant be too bad 8)

I'm very similar to LDB. But as SAFCFTM says, I am very liberal on some issues, I don't just toe a particular party line per se.
