GERVINHO

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

 I reckon he also neglects to deadhead and doesn't like weeding.
Hmmm....I would think that he would deadhead as it means he can use the same plants for the following year, as the answer is not always to buy you know. There are 2 markets for plants - one is the garden centre where everybody buys, and the other is to cultivate your own plot using seeds and clippings that other people have disregarded

I think youre getting carried away with the comparisons now

After being made to look silly by Koscielny, who's mediocre first season was followed by a stormer of a second, I'm going to give Gervinho another season to get comfortable. He knows now that the Prem is more physical, and that defenders aren't going to be turned around by the same simple, one-footed dribbling 'moves'. If he adds a bit of size and gets a little more creative, he could be effective on the wing and offer a good option - whether starting XI or off the bench.

Oh, and while we're at it, FFS work on your finishing Gervy!

Podolski, Gervinho, AOC, Theo - hypothetically make for a pretty fast group of attacking wingers. Plus Ryo, who could start to sneak into the first team next season.

Big big difference here though - firstly kos showed some glimpses of talent last season where as the forehead has shown f**k all. Secondly kos is a defender so in essence his job of destroying is easier than that of someone that has to create and the forehead has shown a woeful lack of intelligence, vision and touch so we would have to be sceptical about his ability to make the grade here

the blokes biggest problem, is he can't score, gets in to good positions and then panic's and either plays the wrong pass or takes a shot that is going nowhere

he is this season's Chamakh, started well, but has faded and is now just a bench player

I can see why you'd say that, but I genuinely think there's a decent player in there somewhere ( :? ) - ok, not world class, but perhaps another Wiltord type player... or better.

As for worst ever... for the money, I suppose Jeffers has to be in contention? But, without a doubt, if it was true that we tried to sign 'the beast' ( ) Baptista for £15m+ the year before we got him on loan, then that would have also been a contender for sure.

Yao Kouassi Gervinho will never be a silky player with sublime tekkers but he will be effective. 10 + goals and 10+ assists is what the boy will produce, I'm happy with that. He gets into great positions, you can't write him off yet.

No but we can write off anyone that uses the word "tekkers". Or "silks" for that matter. :banghead: :box:

:-P

But seriously, for future reference, it's called "skills". 8)
