of more concern is that there is a potential vacancy at Barcelona.
Wenger is currently 3rd favourite to take the job apparently. Would he go do you think if he was offered it?
he would take RVP with him and get the opportunity to work with Cesc again, so a possibility I think.

It would be an interesting question to ask if AW were to go to Barca, but Guardiola would still take a year off, but sign a three year contract to take over at AFC as of 2013 ; would we accept that?
This would leave us with an interim manager like Steve Bould for a year, difficult to keep RvP, and sign any real quality, but the 'promise' of great things to follow?

So in many ways, much the same as if Wenger stayed anyway !

difficult to sign any real quality?
how would this interim period be any different from club policy?

Ha. Was kind of hoping for Bielsa and a Galician number 2 just for the prospect of some kind of chaotic regional inter-hybridisation occurring...cusamano wrote:Tito Vilanova is his successor

When he has "walked away" it has been as a winner, not a quitter. His sacking from the Chavs was premature, and I have no doubt they would have won the clge by now had he stayed.SteveO 35 wrote:Yep, Jose Mourinho, a model of longevitygoonersid wrote:A man who walks away at the first sign of pressure, I'd rather we didn't. Wow Tito is the new coach!!
Keep the same philosophy! What an opportunity for him, but I'm guessing Tito and Pep talked about this long ago, thus the quick replacement.
Didn't Jose poke Tito in the eye when barca beat them?
Of course I would like guardiola. And in defense of him. Coaching barca is far far more stressful than the arsenal job ever has to be. I can see why he needs to take a year out, Jose did no?
You're expected to win La Liga every where and essentially the European Cup as well. You MUST play the right way every game, the fans sit their expecting to be entertained. Frank could not motivate Deco and Ronald after he won the european cup and that was his downfall.
So I would take Pep without doubt. He is full of ideas, has integrity, experience in winning, and sets up his team to play football. His weaknesses in my eyes are his transfers, he will have to improve, but he is only 41.
But we'll have to join the queue, utd will take a strong look at him, we know Roman wants him, City may go after him. I don't think not winning the league or CL this year really hurts his rep.

Once everyone has finished jizzing in their undies because Thierry scores against Championship Leeds...those interested in Facts will note that Spuds are now joint second in the league. That's 2nd.
Spuds have won more games, Spuds have scored more goals and they have also conceded less goals. Oh and they have more points. Oh and their wage bill is over 35% lower than Arsenal's!
So despite Gazidis and the AKB muppets going on about "self sustainability", Daniel Levy and Spuds are running a superior football team on far less resources. Oh and their fans pay less money, to watch better players. Oh and their manager earns less than half of what our clown does. Oh and they spent just £5 mil this summer on players, not £50mil.
Still. I'll look forward to Kiwomya, MacDowell and the deluded Amish sheep brigade to tell us how "our quality will shine through".
Heh
I'll remember that next time you're giving me shit about Abou![]()
No, all jokes aside I like Baba, but he should just come out now (not in a King Jayson way) and say he went overboard about the Spuds. I'll admit it too - I didn't imagine for a minute that we would catch them and you can probably find posts from me on here to that effect (although not quite so barbed !)
Just one final point though mate - we ain't home and dry yet, and much as I fucking hope not, I wouldn't be surprised if they closed the gap to 3 points with a game in hand this weekend
I have to make an apology here stevo im afraid i didnt get my point across as i meant to so im just going to try and clarify what i meant in regards what i was trying to say to Baba.Obviously the scum could still finish ahead of us a sthe season is not over.
What i was trying to say was that baba was raving about the scum for most of the season but when they hit a bad patch there was no comment from him.All i was looking from him was to give an opinion on that but he seems reluctant to do so.
Theres a guy who works with me who is a manure fan, when arsenal lose im barely in the door at work when hes over to me slagging and generally taking the piss BUT when manure lose he seems to disappear and not willing for me to take the piss out of him.My point being if you are going to post something that suits your agenda and then when it goes pearshaped at least have the balls to have come on and say you might not have been totally right, now if spurs do finish ahead of us he will be vindicated and then there will be no arguement from me.
Babas problem is as far as hes concerned he knows better than the rest of us.He cant be right all the time. Now let hostilities commence

Wenger; "The philosophy of Barcelona has to be about more than winning or losing a championship"
What else should it be about? I guess they should be working harder on achieving that fourth place trophy and bettering themselves in the Deloitte money league lol
