at least he never seems to get injured, so that's a plus... but i just thinking it's he's plodding around the pitch, giving away dopey, needless free kicks and just looking like he has just woken up that makes him stand out

Squad player for me, who like so many others have been thrusted in to the first team

I still think he's gonna leave in the summer, and end up at citeh. Why else are we being linked to players like M'Villa, de jong?

Should be a squad player, some time on the sidelines might teach him some discipline and think about how to improve his game rather than walking in regardless of form and being a liability. He has a lot of useful attributes but is a way off possessing the mental and tactical prowess to put them to full use. Look at the games Arteta missed: United home, Swansea away, Wigan home etc etc: all games where we created nothing and were carved open at ease, it's impossible to suggest that Song is a vital cog in the light of this.

He strikes me as similar to David Luiz. Plagued by a lack of tactical discipline and rash decision-making, the much-vaunted solution of moving him further up the pitch conveniently ignores the fact that he would still lack the requisite discipline and nous, not to mention that there are far far better players in more advanced midfield roles available.

His head is too big now to be a squad player.

The great thing about arseholes that rely on stats as justification is they just keep proving me right when I say only arseholes rely on stats as justification!

Do you lot remember when he was loaned out to Charlton? Did any of you care at the time if he came back? I didn't, as we had a fantastic array of talent and he looked well below Arsenal class.

The only reason he is a nailed-on starter now is we have no fucker else, they've all left, so we have to endure Song jogging around and fouling everything that moves.

He's simply not good enough, it's not a question of talent now, it's about application and discipline.

Second rate, average player that symbolises how far we have fallen in the last 7 years. Can't stand him and the day he goes (which won’t be for a long time thanks to our useless manager) will be a happy day for many Arsenal supporters - except the ones who think any player selected by the Dear Leader is on a par with Pele.

Whilst I do not condone violence aimed at players, this article shows that frustration aimed at Song is not just from some supporters at our club.

Arsenal's Alexandre Song assaulted in Cameroon
The Arsenal midfielder was assailed with blows from angry fans following the Indomitable Lions’ 2-1 defeat to Libya last weekend in a 2014 World Cup qualifying game

Cameroon international midfielder Alex Song was attacked by bitter football fans along a commercial avenue in Yaounde on Tuesday while returning from a training session.

According to eyewitnesses, the assailants, most of whom were young boys, accused the 24-year-old Arsenal midfielder of being responsible for Cameroon’s 2-1 loss to Libya in Sfax, Tunisia last Sunday in the second matchday of 2014 World Cup qualifying.

The police say an investigation has been launched and that the aggressors will be brought to justice.

When he was young, he was shit, now he's older he's grindingly average and is guaranteed a starting berth due to the lack of serious competition.

Vieira
Petit
Gilberto
Flamini
Diarra
Song

he's the african Geoff Thomas.

he's actually my most dislikeable Arsenal player of all time (36 years an counting...).

I really detest that gormless expression he has when he gets booked, fouls on the edge of the box, gives away possesion etc.

he never looks gutted, just blankly retarded and then he picks his nose...

it's irrational i know, but sometimes when he's playing i just want Ray Parlour to run on the pitch and punch Song in the face and leg it off.

am I wrong ?
