Cologne pre season friendly

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

If you are going, please wear yellow or blue, and bring yellow/blue balloons... the more that do this, the more it will be picked up on. Thanks.

Got me ticket today for N17  :barscarf: .

To those of you who come to the match in Cologne remember:

No need for you to fare-dodge with the KVB (Cologne Public Transport) on matchday - the fare for free travel with bus, tube and tram 4 hours before k.o. until late night is included in the match-ticket. German efficiency?

me too. Holland is the same, to get to de Kuip in rotterdam on matchdays, your match ticket is also scanned as your tram ticket on the tram to underneath the stadium. 8)

It is included, I can dig out the small print from the back of last years ticket if needed.

But the Koln U-Bahn system didn't even have any ticket barriers that I saw anyway. Just walk in & out as you please, nobody even looked at our tickets.

Where did everyone end up drinking that went last year after the game?

The only time i've been to Cologne i ended up having a good night in some late night bar next door to Subway at BarbarossaPlatz, that was on a Tuesday night however.

We ended up in a small sports bar a few mins from the ground last year. I seem to recall we ended up watching the Euro U19s Championship or something. May head there again this year, although we only have about 2 hours drinking time before we have to catch a train this time around....

He mentions that sportsbar "Doping Sportsbar" but says after the match to hop back on the train and head for "Rudolfsplatz" & Zülpicher Platz which is back on line 1 towards the city centre again.
