If moyes takes over it will be a bad move for him and manure - if moyes became our manager, as we currently stand, then it would be a step up for him but to join them it would be two or three steps up and that might be too much for a man with no champs league experience (unless you count his departure in a qualifier). The only reason I could see ferguscum picking moyes is if he intends to be in the background influencing what goes on and that certainly wont work. Dont like the c.unt but moaninho is and always has been the logical choice imo

With Fergie and also Chief Exec David Gill leaving Man Utd at the end of the season, here's hoping it could prove to be a very difficult time of transition for them. Add the possibility of Rooney also jumping ship and it could be very interesting!

Fungusmoan On Arsene Wenger:

"They say he's an intelligent man, right? Speaks five languages. I've got a 15-year-old boy from the Ivory Coast who speaks five languages!"

I actually think he's the worst option for them.

Mourinho doesn't believe in building a team just buying one of the shelf. The chavs youth system had millions thrown at it but he didn't use any of their players. I know the United one isn't what it was but they still pride themselves on winning titles with a lot of players from their youth system.

Fergie may have become the main man at Old Trafford but that took years and if you think about the way Fergie used to behave, you were never in any doubt that he was thinking always of the good of the club. Even his retirement became not about him but about the club. Can you imagine Mourinho having such a low key retirement from any club.

I know looking at the papers and the media coverage, it doesn't seem so low key but he cannot do anything about that. The media all chose to do that, which is fair enough

With the Portugeezer you never get beyond the feeling that he always has to be the story but not in a 'deflect attention away from my players' style but in a 'I want to be the centre of attention' style.

Mourinho leaves clubs in a slightly shi**ier state than when he took them over. I don't know if someone posted it on here previously but it seems to be that the reason this happens is that he works the players at a highluy intensive rate which is only sustainable for a set period and only works for 2-3yrs because the players can only handle it for so long.

This works perfectly for him as he never hangs around for longer than 3yrs. It makes it poignant that he is going back to a Chelsea which is almost completely different from the one he left. Only Terry remains and he will only keep him around to use sparingly. Frank possibly but Cole is on the wain and will be replaced v soon, expect to see Luke Shaw cross from the south coast.

Personally I thought they would wiat a year and give it to Klopp....good at least it leaves him available. There is a part of me that still thinks if AW leads this team to 3rd or more likely 4th place he will bugger off and that clause in his contract we are told doesn't exist will suddenly materialise...just hope we don't go for Martinez.

Or Moyes:

http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/22453895
Media convinced it is Moyes, but someone I know who works in football says it is Mourinho, deal was done over a month ago.

I know that reads really badly on a Forum, but this bloke is not given to coming up with loads of rumours of In The Know stuff, he is just convinced it is Mourinho and seeing as I do not work in football it is interesting to me that the the talk in his circles is about Mourinho.

We shall see :D
Aside from the Moyes deal looking done and dusted and making sense, I'm sceptical they'd have approached Mourinho well before announcing Ferguson's retirement. Mourinho is a loud-mouth self-interested prick at the best of times, and if he decided not to take the job on or go to Chelsea you can bet he'd let the world know that a) Ferguson was retiring, and b) He turned United down!

In AW defence Fergie said that at a time when The Arsenal were making fools of his team, he said this before we slapped them into 3rd and won the league unbeaten.

Fergie's greatest asset was in seeing the threat of Chavs and meeting it head on with eye watering sums for players like Rooney and Ferdinand and taking a gamble on Ronaldo.

Dein wanted to meet the threat head on as well but for some reason AW and the board chose not too. That is the biggest mistake as a club that we have made for a very long time.

In 2004 we were probably one of the best clubs in Europe and if we hadn't f**ked up against the chavvy scum and succumbed to Bridge's late goal at Highbury we probably would have been crowned chams of Europe. We were in our 3rd year of 4 seriously successful years.5 trophies in 4 years. We should have flexed our muscle, gotten better commercial deals and spent summer of 2004 buying improvements on Freddie,Bobby a proper keeper and getting a young replacement for Paddy to bed in.

We fucked up and let Chavs, then Shitty and unfortunately I think in a few days Scum, all march on ahead of us.

Fergie didn't see AW and The Arsenal off, no the board and AW did that to themselves. They went from wanting and striving like they used to, settling.

That's why we shouldn't get Martinez, he's a settler.

we did get new commercial deals - we chose to spend them on a new stadium (mysteriously absent from your narrative - "for some reason")
doing what you suggested instead would actually be "the biggest mistake as a club that we have made for a very long time."

Investing in the team rather than building a stadium would be a big mistake?

I actually didn't ignore the stadium just didn't see it's relevance. A big stdium is pointless if it's built to watch a declining team. That is what we are.

It's the equivalent of getting Norman Foster to build you a nice new home and then getting your furnishings/fixtures and fittings from matalan.

We pay top whack in a top stadium to watch average to good players, if you don't see anthing wrong with that then I can't help you. And please don't mention financial fair play as Abramowich is too busy readying his £100million a year stadium renaming of the new Roman@ the Bridge stadium to give a flying.

Anyway this is the wrong thread for a what's wrong with The Arsenal arguement.

My point was we did things wrongly and because of that we are being left behind whilst others march on. Fergie did not get caught out that's why we all have to spend the next few days listening to the sycophants on TV/Radio/in the papers/Online ....you can't get away from it

This is a key point about Gill.
I think Ferguson saw what happened to Wenger once Dein had gone.

So if Moyes is going to be announced today and Chavs only draw against Villa, what kind of team are chavs going to face at the bridge on the final day of the season ?

An Everton team who know their manager's off and they could be off too, so won't give a crap about the game. A game that would normally be a difficult one for the chavs. 2 draws from their final 2 games and 2 wins from us would see us 3rd. But now it'll be an easy homer for the chavs :x

Why couldn't they have announced it at the END of the season. It's not like they couldn't flat out deny it and say it's all BS. They do that all the time

So when we finish behind the Chavs it will be all down to Moyes leaving and not us being shite.Send that to Wenger to use in his post match conference at St James
