As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Took a half day off work and met up with a couple of mates at lunchtime, afternoon beers in various pubs and were determined to try and get some sort of atmosphere going. We were surrounded by about 4 rows of suits and my mate actually got told to sit down and a steward came over telling him to calm down.
What little talk there was about football (in between work chat and checking the Blackberry) was about as uninformed as it gets, along the lines of "who is that playing there?", "who plays for Milan these days" etc
Was sat in one of the blocks above the away fans (who created what little atmosphere there was). A completely drab experience....worse than PL games. Surrounded by the worst type of 'fan'.
If we do have to endure this boreathon for a few more years I'll be doing it from the front room or maybe attending the odd away leg.
Come to PAOK away SteveO. No suits, blackberries or public school chat. Plenty of this though...
Real Sociedad
Pacos de Ferreira
Salzburg/Fenerbahce (subject to CAS ruling)
PAOK Salonika/Metalist Kharkiv
PSV Eindhoven/Zulte Waregem

Fenerbahce and PSV would be tough opponents, hopefully we'll avoid them.
Looks like Metalist and PSV will be advancing after winning their first legs 2-0. The CAS ruling on Fenerbache won't be until August 29th so we would have to play them if drawn.

it's got nothing to do with where fans come from
Surely that applies to all games?
I think going away in Europe is a different experience/commitment to a post work match at the Grove...
Perhaps, but I still think any fan wanting us to lose ANY game is odd. I have never ever wanted us to lose a game whether its home against Shrewsbury in the League Cup or away to Bayern in the CL. No matter what the level of dissatisfaction is or has been against the manager / board / players etc, I can't ever cheer against us. Its actually the fact that we sacrifice the domestic cups for this horrible thing (a modern disease) that pisses me off so much.

Hope we don't draw them as they are renowned for their pre-match 'mind games'!!

If you count the old European Cup (I know it was before Sky invented football ) then they've won the bastard thing 5 times.
