Speaking of which, wonder if Wenger will finally get a win over Mourinho this season? What is it, 0 wins in 11 attempts? Maybe this is AW's attempt at a second 49-game run. He'll probably stay long enough to achieve it too.
It has to happen at some point and when it does it'll be hailed by Wengerites as "the turning of a corner". Christ, how I would love to watch us stuff Chelsea so we could hear what conspiratorial nonsense Mourinho would spew out.

Fucking right we were. :barscarf: 8)

For all their ills, the Ingerlish do at least marry outside their own families so we Dubs had a bit in common with them that you swamp-pigs down the country didn't. Except of course for the Ingerlish from Cornwall, Norfolk and Birmingham who, I believe, are their version of you culchie uncle-fuckers. 8)

If we get two or three more players in the right position. It should give us enough depth to last the full season. Also with our british core being older should help.

Think we could have won 10-1 and the answer would be no.

We have made improvements and I am really excited to see Sanchez play for us and hopefully see Ozil have a great season and Ramsey keep up last year's form.

I just don't see that we have addressed the fundamental frailties that cost us last year.

Yep I fear you may be right. He would have looked at that today and it would only have reinforced the Arsene Wenger approach to tactics.......WE WILL SCORE MORE GOALS THAN YOU. If and as always it's a huge if, he has one last dip into the market for a top drawer DM then I actually think we'll go close. With all the pace and skill we'll have we will score but we have to have a manager who can instill defensive discipline and we all know that a leopard doesn't change his spots....especially when he's in his 60s.

and a centre forward.

Fix those positions and why not?

Giroud is poor, Arteta and Flamini are in decline, they are the weak links.

same old problem - we don't strengthen in the areas that we need to strengthen in.

defensively we continue to be weak. we currently have only one recognised CB who is fit yet there are some on here who seem to think that we can challenge for the title??

Between the attacking players in our squad we have plenty of goals in us so I don't see that being a problem.

Watching Arteta get outpaced and outmuscled by every *word censored* is though.

The current alternative is worse - watching flamoney run around the place like a demented Yorkshire terrier on craic, is especially galling when you realise that his idea of being a defensive midfielder is fouling every opposition player in sight

Really don't agree, both positions are equally as weak as eachother, yes we have goals in this team but we also have another 9 outfield players that are capable of defending so if we really want to push on we need to replace the players that are clear weak links.

Giroud is shocking, even with better players around him he still gets caught off side when he shouldn't or the ball don't stick.

Ozil and Cazorla are utterly INcapable of defending so that makes 7,

We could have the 5 best midfielders in the world in the side along with the best defenders and still we'd fuck it up, because sending players out with little/no tactics, not planning for the opposition and playing the same formation every single game regardless means Arsene FC will not be any better this season.
