Re: CL Draw
That's the best draw we could have hoped for.
As usual though, some mixed emotions. On one hand I am delighted that we avoided the real big teams as you never know what can happen when your team gains some confidence. On the other hand it just gives AW another chance to remind the world how strong we are if we reach the last eight!

just booked flights with ba for ~£150. After my booking session for £106 'mysteriously' ended.gp543 wrote:Only conceded once in 6 matches though.augie wrote:Skooner wrote:The Arsenal board as ambitious as ever:

Don't know much about the current Monaco side, but on the face it as kind a draw as we could have hoped for.
Any team that is depending on barbietov to get them through is fairly shit imo
I wonder if monaco are looking at the draw thinking that we were the best draw they could have got too![]()
Gutted to be missing this as work rules prevent me from traveling the last two weeks of the quarter. Will be at the home leg.
Also, if you're having a look at travel, consider taking the Eurostar to Paris and flying CDG-NCE return. Think I had it all ready to book for £140 total.

Going for a piss up and possibly decent weather even if I can't get a ticket.
Re: CL Draw
A chance to progress and with Porto v Basel as one of the other ties, someone is going to get a half decent quarter final too.
Surely a 4th placed finish and a CL semi-final two legged fifteen goal aggregate defeat to Real would be Wenger's "greatest ever achievement" especially after three teenagers said a naughty word to him at the train station

If we can't beat Monaco over two legs I give up.

Greatest achievement and proper vindication of his greatness...But those three lads were happily singing "there's only one.." at the Emirates last Saturday if you believe the media.

Re: CL Draw
It is the best possible draw for us, but like all things Arsenal it comes with a health warning. As a friend texted to me this morning, Monaco are also probably happy with the draw.

Re: CL Draw
Beat Monaco + draw the winner of Basel/Porto = semi-finals

Re: CL Draw
Yeah, our spectacular record away at Porto should instill cast-iron confidence in Gooners across the land.

Re: CL Draw
I was wondering why the league finished so late this season and I have just worked out why - no PL games appear to be scheduled on the same weekends as the FA Cup right up until the 6th round so the season will just go on and on...
anyway it makes for a crazy March schedule.
assuming we are knocked out of the FA Cup by then we will get 11 days without a match until a league game on the 14th v West Ham, then the 2nd leg CL game 3 days later and then a trip to Newcastle 3 days after that. There then follows a 2 week international break!!!
No logic to the football calendar anymore

It would be extremely embarrassing not to progress.
