THE BOARD - Kroenke, Usmanov and Finance
Re: USMANOV- THE SUMMER SIGNING WE MOST NEED
So the penny is dropping for some that should have dropped a while ago if only they read the information in the publically available accounts and ignored the spin doctors
Arsenal have become a property developer - no shit. Thats all they've discussed in the financials for the past 5 years before adding some comment about the 'football activities'. We did not ship out the development - we managed it in house.
Arsenal have an increasing cash pile with which to develop the playing squad but chose not to - why because Kroenke is here for a 2-3 year ride before flipping the club to the next buyer. He won't get a sufficient return on investing £50m in the playing squad in that time. If its poured into marketing budgets and alternative activites that put an extra £1m on the EBITDA line for example and flips it for 10x-15x, he makes a shed load more money than winning a couple of trophies. This is not being run as a football club
Net debt has been reducing and the club is moderately geared now compared to many 'leisure' organisations
Usmanov, contrary to popular belief, would simply convert debt to equity at the end of each season and run the club like Chelsea.....which FFS is a debt free football club.
The current ownership structure is NOT in Arsenal FC's best interests. Its being run like all businesses are when they are bought and already being groomed for sale on day one - for cash, and not for its customers

Augie
Yes it is the reason we are supposed to spend on players to keep the squad competitive.
But maybe Wenger and The Board have decided that the quickest way to build up the money is to spend at current levels and get fourth or third place, knowing that extra investment is needed to take us to first?
But winning the title in turn gets us netter negotiating position for sponsorship and more TV and prize money.
Maybe Wenger and The bard think that these benefits would not be more than the investment in players needed to push us on?
I have no answer to these questions, am just throwing out ideas.
Of course better coaching would improve us, as would spending what we do spend on better than Denilson and Diaby etc.
Love to be the Invisible Man and see what goes on in aboard meeting.

There'd be a load of things I can think of that I'd do beforehand if ever I was the Invisible Man!!

Re: USMANOV- THE SUMMER SIGNING WE MOST NEED
Could they possibly be hoarding a reserve ready for Finanical Fair Play (if it ever truly comes in)
Wenger, thinking that in a couple of years prices for players drop due to clubs being restricted and he thinks his pile of gold will go further in 2 / 3 years time ?? (obviously after signing a new contract
)
Just a thought.

Forget about this FFP. It won't mean that big clubs can't spend anymore. If you listen to experts they say that it will help Barcelona and Madrid most of all because they have such a huge income.StuartL wrote:Could they possibly be hoarding a reserve ready for Finanical Fair Play (if it ever truly comes in)

They have massive debts but that isn't really a problem.
And it won't really stop clubs like ManCity, too.

Financial Fair play, in it's current format, will never come in and dont fool yourself thinking otherwise. Do you honestly believe that clubs like barca who are up to their eyeballs in debt would be refused entry into uefa competitions ? How long would it be before a european super league breakaway then ? As well as that it would be nigh on impossible to police these rules - how can uefa interfere and tell citteh that signing a mega sponsorship deal is illegal cos it is obviously being used to bring in extra cash to their club ? Uefa would have no right to tell citeeh or any other club how much they are allowed sign a sponsorship deal for. Also how would the FFP counter the chav business model ? They can overspend every season only for abramovich to turn that debt into equity at the end of each season meaning that the chavs are debt free ?? Bullshit ideaoligy from naive stupid men

Agreed. The only way you could create a level playing field is to introduce a salary cap like in US sportskite wrote:Forget about this FFP. It won't mean that big clubs can't spend anymore. I agree,he deserves a seat on the board due to his stake in the Club, and to be fair,he seems a lot more "passionate" about Arsenal than the "Bean Counting Abacus",that is "Silent Stan."georgeknows89 wrote:SORRY TO UPSET MANY, BUT JUST LOOK AT CHELSKI AND BLUE MANCS.

HE WILL BID IN THE SUMMER AS THE KRONK DIDNT LIKE THE SHAREHOLDERS MEETING AND HAS BEEN TAKEN ABACK BY THE PASSION OF THE PREMIERSHIP- KRONK KNOWS HE CANT BE A PASSIVE INVESTOR AND I BELIEVED THAT THE KRONK WILL END UP LIKE J P MAGNIER WITH A BIG FAT PROFIT IN A SHORT SPACE OF TIME .
USMANOV JUST FLOATING HOS TELECOM COMPANY TO RAISE ANOTHER FEW HUNDRED MILLION AND NOT EVEN TOUCHED HIS 10 % IN FACEBOOK YET.
HE IS THE MAN, LIKE IT OR NOT AND WILL NOT GO AWAY, JUST UPGRADED HIS SUPER DOUBLE BOX AND INSTALLED HEATED SEATS FOR HIS GUESTS- HE IS GOING NOWHERE ... EXCEPT THE BOARDROOM AND DIRECTORS BOX

As for Chavski, and Man Blue, maybe it is time to say,"If you can't beat 'em,Join 'em."

Don't worry I'm that nieve - It's Arsene's head I'm trying to second guess, he appears to fully believe that FFP will wipe out all the years of neglect and make us a top club again.augie wrote:StuartL wrote:Could they possibly be hoarding a reserve ready for Finanical Fair Play (if it ever truly comes in)

Jabba, is well known as a ManUre fan who wants Arsenal to pay dividends out to shareholders
in what way is he 'passionate'?
if FFP isn't enforced football is on the path to destruction...

But the dividend he would receive would be chicken feed to him.
He has invested millions and continued to buy shares even when Kronke had got to the point where he was the owner of the club
He is richer than Roman Abramovic, considerably richer than Stanley Kronke and considerably richer than you (with apologies to harry enfield)
