they are just your typical identityless midlands club that have achieved very little in their very long history. only notable player in their history was a goalkeeper, they've won one league cup and they play in one of the most boring stadiums in the country on the edge of a retail park. and they have a boring club crest on which is a boring shirt.

in other words, they are worth fuck all of our hatred.
I think the club's general snobbery (particularly from TOF himself) over the years has riled the Stoke fans to the point that we are their cup final. Although they do keep the Shawcross/Ramsey incident alive, the tossers. If they stopped booing Ramsey and TOF finally fucks off, we could end the bad blood between the two clubs - Much like how the bad blood with Hull ended when the Tango Man got sacked.

The Stoke fans singing 'Swing Low, Sweet Chariot' was top banter, to be fair. As was impersonating TOF's arm flapping and ridiculous behaviour on the touchline. They were laughing at us tippy-tappying in front of them, being ineffective as usual whilst they mugged us off on the break and from set pieces. Football CAN be played in different ways, whether we like it or not; we should be able to deal with that and we usually don't, sadly.

It's about time we beat them up there.

End the bad blood, are we trying to appease the scum that applauded when a young player has his leg broken????

The whole thing started with Wenger comments about being a rugby team, ironically during a Stoke v Spurs game

Really don't think the Arsenal have too much to apologise for

They really over stepped the mark with disgraceful behaviour, agree after 5 years its about time we won up there

Besides I am somewhat surprised they actually have the internet in Middle Earth

The team will be Very Dissapointed at having let the 3 - 2 lead slip on Wednesday against the thieving scousers, Alexis is back and even though one of the smallest players in the team will galvanize by example of how to get stuck in - He will also have Bitch Slapped bfg (big feckin girl) for turning his back like a virgins petticoat in a stiff breeze...So we should defend better... Rambo, Theo and Giroud to score... :barscarf: :barscarf: :barscarf: :barscarf:

No, but I think we'll lose with or without Ozil. :banghead:

Mertesacker says: "Cech knows how to win at Stoke". It's become a thing. Not being able to win away at Stoke is a real thing for these players.

Wonder if Cech's experience of winning there loads with a successful chav team will win out against our "shit our pants" mentality, or vice versa.

When I look at the games we have left I think this one, plus the Chavs and then the Scum away are the 3 games where our character will come into question. We slayed the ghosts of the Etihad and OT pretty well in the last year, but we still roll over and die every year at the Brittania barring the one season when Shawcunt was sent off (game was 1-1 at that point) and sometimes we've gone there riding high in the league as we are now and when they've been shit.....so recent form doesn't come into. This is about whether the team have truly grown a pair and can deal with all the shit we'll get from the crowd and Charlie Adam and co.

The Chavs still have a grip over us too regardless of their own shit form and since the greatest manager in the world pitched up at the shithole we've been crap against them too.

If we come out of these games without defeats then I might start daring to think we can win the league.....it starts today !

Think the hatred with Stoke & The Arsenal goes back a long way, at least the early '70's battles in successive seasons in the FA Cup semis which we won both after replays. :barscarf: Although they beat us up there in the double season 5-0 before the first semi final clash, we must have worked out a way to combat then afterwards, so take note Wenger? :banghead:

Yes they are very bitter! :barscarf: See below!

"Played onside by a programme seller

The Gunners' striker John Radford appeared to be miles offside when the ball was slipped through to him.
Yet the linesman mistook a programme seller for a Stoke defender, and allowed play to continue!
Radford promptly scored, and Arsenal defended their lead successfully to again rob Stoke of a place in football's showpiece occasion.
They even had the audacity to lose the final. Talk about ungrateful."

Plus Peter Storey scored two against Gordon Banks the previous year!

That team that won the 70/71 Double had bags of character, McLintock, Storey, Armstrong, Simpson, Wilson, Radford and Kenedy :barscarf:

Sir Stanley Matthews, CBE (1 February 1915 – 23 February 2000) was an English footballer. Often regarded as one of the greatest players of the English game, he is the only player to have been knighted while still playing, as well as being the first winner of both the European Footballer of the Year and the Football Writers' Association Footballer of the Year awards. Matthews' nicknames included "The Wizard of the Dribble" and "The Magician". Thanks to Wikipedia

He spent 19 years with Stoke

A few years ago, we could never win at Bolton and always got beaten by them being physical then, we won a cup replay up there and the monkey was off the back. Today's team are much better than Stoke, we've got a decent spirit in the squad and I honestly think we'll be fine. We'll win comfortably.

I hope you're right mate, I really do. I don't its the quality difference that worries me - we've had a vastly superior team every time we've been there. Its how they cope with all the shit from the crowd and their thugs that concerns me - mentally, we've melted here almost every season
