every time sky try to big up a game and give it a fucking title ("red monday"? wtf is that anyway, sounds like a metaphor along the lines of "having the painters in") it turns out to be a huge anti-climax.

Best result for us bar a meteor smashing into Anfield causing millions of pounds worth of improvements to the surrounding area

I couldnt agree more. Look at Enrique with Barcelona, he has already replicated Pep's success by winning the treble, indicating Barcelona's success is as much to do with the playing personnel, rather than Pep per se. Then at Bayern, Pep inherited Bayern when they were the European champions, yet Pep didnt deliver the success Bayern enjoyed under Jupp Heynckes

Now at City, he is clearly working with an inferior group of players. The only players who could get near the Barcelona or Bayern team is De Bruyne, Silva and Aguero - the rest would be perennial bench warmers, whilst some of their first team players wouldn't even get in the match day squad (although the same can be said about us).

And we know better than anyone else, thats its impossible to play a high tempo, high energy game with brilliant football throughout the season. I wonder if this is lost on Pep, and I wonder if he fully deduces the impact the colder weather, with more games and lesser breaks in between will have on his players. City are already showing signs of fatigue, and trouble breaking down teams. City dont have the technical ability of Bayern or Barcelona.

Whats telling, is I dont believe City believe the above is true. They have developed this arrogance about them, assuming Pep as manager gives them some sort of new prestige. The Manchester Evening News is already running propaganda pieces about Bellerin. Some fool named Stuart Brennan penned an article titled 'If Bellerin is an intelligent as they say - he must leave Arsenal for Man City'. This is the type of mind set that is indicative of City fans - they have this irraitonal belief they are in the company of Bayern, Barcelona and Real Madrid. Whilst we, Arsenal, are levels below them.

Of course confidence is a great thing, but there is a thin line between confidence and delusion, and right now, City are on the side of on delusion. And we can take advantage of this ignorance being displayed by City as a club, and perhaps Pep might be underestimating English football culture.

The media have totally lost perspective on Liverpool. They play exciting stuff at times and when they click they can smash sides - but their squad (and actually starting XI) is obviously lacking in quality.

United have assembled just about the most expensive side in PL history and Mourinhi made it clear with his set-up that he has went bothered about trying to win the game. At Anfield. And now Mourinho is basking in the media's obsession with him being a tactical genius because de Gea made two class saves to nick then a point. Are United fans really that happy about that?

Without the fixture congestion of CL and the huge amount of money spent every year, United's ambition should undoubtedly be the title. And Mourinho has already lost faith in his side after City went there and pulled their pants down.

Fucking tedious is not the word. The SlySports build up was the usual hysterical hype that we have come to expect where the PL is concerned but what a damp squib they fucking delivered last night. Two quite average teams that have moments of quality but also can look like shit pub sides quite often too.

As I said pre-season Pogba's first touch is too loose for the pace and hustle of the PL. If they don't work hard on that they will have pissed away 90million. Or he will get a bad injury.

Another game that laid another nail into the coffin of the myth that Daniel Sturridge is anything but a championship level striker. His first touch is schoolboy amateur at best, his movement is unintelligent and his finishing is shite. Best thing about him is he is so shite that we only have to suffer through his embarrassingly shite goal celebration dance 5 or 6 times a season!

last night just showed how over hyped the Premier League really is.

the bubble does however appear to be finally bursting - apparently viewing figures for SKYs premier league games are down 19% this season.
I think we might have reached saturation level.

I read an article on this on the Football365 website and the comments were interesting. Basically what people were saying is that there are now far too many live games, and what is happening is something that I have noticed with myself over the past couple of seasons - the more games, the less that you are actually bothered about watching.

take this week - ask yourself why SKY put Man United v Liverpool on this particular Monday night. It is quite simple, it is Champions League week, and so SKY hope everyone tuned in last night, and then won't be too bothered about tuning in to BT over the next 3 nights for the european action.

the thing is the fan/viewer/customer whatever we are need a break every now and again. to go from 3 days of PL football to 3 days of european football (after we have been subjected to a 2 week international break) is madness. am i bothered about Leicester City and Spurs playing in the CL? No I am not, but as I have said before on here, if you put those games on the same night as the Arsenal CL match then I would be more interested (always fun to hear Spurs are losing at the same time as Arsenal are winning :D ). That kind of small thing, helps, and always helped football to sustain itself. Continuing to dilute the product just turns everyone off. The people in charge need to take note.

And what can you say about Henderson ? Without doubt one of THE most average midfielders in the league, and without doubt the worst captain selection in world football  I would take Vinnie jones, david batty or even Geoff Thomas, over this plodder any day of the week

Without a doubt Henderson is vastly vastly over-rated. He is typical of the midfield plodder. A touch of quality every 4 or 5 games and not much in between. I wouldn't have him in our team. Honestly. Very average footballer on a good day - and with zero leadership skills. I'd have the mascot as captain ahead of that plank.
