The reason some people think Wilshire is good is because of the dross around him in our midfield.

I'd give him a two-year deal. Let him fully prove himself next year and if he fails to do so then cash in on him next summer.

I've all been for Jack staying and being our captain but after watching him against Milan I think he has to go, for his own good. He was pedestrian and waiting for things to happen whilst Ozil and Mkihi were on the pitch. Once they were taken off, only then did he start to take hold of the team. Problem is, he either steps up and takes control whilst the other two are on the pitch or move because he thinks he's an interior player to those two.
He hasn't got time to prove his fitness anymore, he has to step up and run the game. Has he got the character to step up?

I think we should sign some better midfielders like Glenn Whelan, Wes Hoolahan or Jeff Hendrick

SSN - "Jack Wilshere will not feature when England host Italy at Wembley on Tuesday evening as part of their World Cup preparation."

And similar headlines will follow Jack all through the next seasons so I maintain that we should get rid.

Who cares if he misses england friendlies ? :? If he is fit again for our games, then that should be all that matters 8)

That's my point. He's constantly unfit for any games be it England or AFC. It'd be a waste of money to keep him on a big contract as he's so likely to get injured.

He has hardly missed a game for us in the past few months - that level of fitness allied to his performances is worthy of a new contract in my opinion

Absolutely, I mean it's not a sif Ingerlundd are gonna do anything at the Russia Corrupt Cup anyway is it!? :?

Give him a years extension and see how he fares - if he misses more than 10% of the season through injury - SELL! SELL! SELL! - That's if anyone will take him.

I'd keep him. He has a bit of magic about his game when fit. He sees and tries things that few players can. But of course it's the fitness issue again with him. I'd give him a two year deal and take him aside and try and coach that late touch out of his game. It's that late touch that invites the tackles that can injure. Just coach that out of - what the fuck am I talking about.... I've not worked in the game 30 years....

Maybe not, but you certainly have a injury history record, that dwarfs that of jack, diaby, and every other perma crock player that has ever played the game

Haha kinda true.... the difference being I've actually not missed that many games through injury - if it isn't a broken bone or a torn ligament then I tape that bastard up, dose up on codeine and Ibuprofen and play through the pain. Even when I had the double compound fracture of the left ankle and was told I'd never even run again (never mind play football) I was back playing 7 months later. 8)

Modern PL players are all pussies... and not even the kind you can eat.... :D

I just feel that he will get another long term injury very soon. He has done ok this season but not enough to gamble big money on him for the next few years. We would all be the first to complain if he signed a 200,000 a week deal and then was out for a year.
I hope he stays fit for his sake but we know once a player is injury prone it tends to remain that way.

Unfortunately, Jack seems to be deteriorating into Jay Spearing.
Roy Keane is right, if Arsenal have offered a contract he should sign it as no other big English team will sign him in current form.
