Welcome to The Arsenal, Ben White

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

He just needs to find an Irish grandparent just like all your best players in the 90s did :D

And like I keep reminding you, none of terry butcher, tony dorigo, john barnes or owen hargreaves (and there are others) were born in england and yet wore your shirt for years 8)
Also make no mistake, our best players in that "golden era" were brady, mcgrath, bonner and whelan and were all 100% Irish :barscarf:
Are you having a laugh? Butcher was born in Singapore because his Dad was in the Royal Navy.

The Irish specifically went out to look for tenuous links to Ireland. Cascarino had no actual link but he was welcomed onboard. His adoptive Grandfather was Irish and that was enough.
Get your history right you mug cùnt.

His granny was Italian but she had a pet Oirish Wolf hound and he qualified through that. :barscarf:
Is this supposed to be funny? Or is a Mod calling a poster the c word? A quick mail to the owner of The Gooner may be in order. Let me know which it is.
Note the smiley and winky emoticons?

But you know what? Do whatever makes you happy, mate.

Some people on here hate Arsenal and hate England. Meanwhile my local pub side would give Ireland a game.
Is that the pub side where you live or the "village" pub side?
You can add Trossard, Odegaard, Rice, Saka and Nelson to this local side as they would all qualify.
fuck me thats some line up, fair play you won that one! :D

Another non story, just reporters and their usual exaggeration, he didn't say he was unprofessional, he said he probably isn't the MOST professional in the squad

He doesn't watch football at home, so what, he lives it every day, I'm sure he wants to unwind while at home, he DOES however watch the training videos of opponents he is facing, that's his job and he does it.

You wouldn't get much insight watching televised games anyway, training videos would be of specific players and filmed by Arsenal staff, not sky or bt sports.

I like him, he's down to earth and apart from always being a shade of an over ripened satsuma, for me he's been one of our most consistent players, our right side attacking play is in a big part down to him.

He's also a big part of our corner and free kick routines.

He doesn't stretch  but obviously does his warm ups before games and trains hard otherwise Arteta would drop him like a stone, some athletes just don't need to stretch, he obviously has a different physicality that doesn't require it.

There are a few players in the squad that I'd criticise way before Ben regardless of how much they stretch or watch football at home

Arteta said he trains every day like it's the champions league final, he's missed 9 games in the past 4 seasons but the scummy sun reckons he's unprofessional :coffeespit:

As a young man I took a job as a salesman for a manufacturer of vehicle clutches and filters . I was required to wear a suit and I never felt comfortable and in the two years before they got rid of me , I learned a lot and saw a gap in the market and realised that once you got past director level the people that were doing the ordering were more often than not dressed casually.
I started my own little supply chain and dressed casually and successfully made my own way until I retired .
Moral of the story , I was considered unprofessional but I did the job and did it well .
Really that's all that matters.

^^^THIS ^^^ 1,000%....

Well said Rodders :high5:

Also agree with you Lefty mate ... I don't give a fuck whether he watches football at home or whatever as long as he does his job as a Defender in the Arsenal team...in that interview he speaks very honestly; now there's a rarity these days especially when a high number of players have been coached on how to interview, how to answer questions, what and what not to say :blah: :blah: :blah: Some of the inane dumb-as-fuck questions players(and managers) get asked these days by Moronic Journo's is beyond belief. These journoWankers are just trying to stir the shit or start another stupid rumour...

Ben White comes across as a Nice Lad who knows his limitations and where and what he needs to work on as a player in a very well coached and organised team, also he is not shy to praise those players that enable him to play better etc etc

As to his tan... so what? As long as he can defend and do his part as member of our team that's all that matters... he must be doing something right... I mean besides being a Squillionaire ... look at his wife!
