NEWCASTLE TONITE

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

I know we stuffed him twice but isn't it a great advert for football, the 2 games against keegan's Newcastle have been brilliant entertainment. Compare it to that fat *word censored* Allardyce. I hope he does well cos i'd rather watch that sort of game than Bolton v Blackburn even if it was free every week.

Just got back from the game. And while it wasn't amazing it was a classic example of 3 shots 3 goals type football. Rather dull all round but kinda got the feeling we were just toying with them. I have to mention special praise for Gael, he's the real deal, Clichy (it rhymes if you imagine it properly). Not just on tonights performance, but he really is coming along and soon will be untouchable in his spot worldwide. Also England's NO1 was pretty quick off his line and dealt with anything that came his way. Gooners!!

gael showed once again why he's probably our best player this season. I've never seen another player with such a cool head. He could get out of any situation without busting a gut or just hoofing the ball. Can't wait for him to finally get his goal.

THE MATCH WAS VERY SIMILAR TO SATURDAY'S - ALBEIT WE SCORED JUST BEFORE HALF-TIME RATHER THAN JUST AFTERWARDS - AND IT FELT A LITTLE BIT LIKE GROUNDHOG DAY TO ME. :?

FLAMINI AND CLICHY WERE AGAIN SUPERB, AS THEY WERE IN THE FA CUP GAME, AND BIG PHIL ONCE AGAIN DID ALRIGHT - MAKING A FANTASTIC BLOCK TACKLE ON SMITH WHEN IT WAS ONLY 1-0. MIND YOU, I BET HE WISHES HE COULD PLAY UP AGAINST ALAN SMITH AND MICHAEL OWEN EVERY WEEK. 8)

ALTHOUGH, LIKE SATURDAY, WE WERE NEVER AT OUR BEST, THERE ARE SIGNS THAT THE TEAM IS BEGINNING TO HIT IT'S STRIDE AGAIN.
THE IMPORTANT THING IS THAT IT'S ANOTHER 3 POINTS TO THE TOTAL AND ONE MORE MATCH OUT OF THE WAY. 8)

COME ON PORTSMOUTH AND READING - PULL OFF A COUPLE OF SURPRISES FOR US. PRETTY PLEASE?
