mcmark it looks awesome, would love that to take off.

Anyone else go to Goodison last year? Reminds me of the whole of our away section bouncing up and down sing 'jump up if your f'ing cold'. Great fun, was funny seeing the look of some of the players as it suddenly took off, having the rest of the ground just staring in admiration at our little corner and being told by some everton fans that we were the best away support by far.

I hated CC the band when they were on the go to be honest . But I think 60000 singing the above would sound deadly!!
I agree with DB10Gooner, the Adebayor chant is quality. 8)

Yet, Its Up 4 Grabs, I have to say, much as I like your adaptation of Yesterday, 'Eboue like Lee Dixon in his hey day??' :? God, if only!!

ECD

 Sorry, really should have taken your feelings towards Eboue into account when posting that one!!!

Feel free to change the line in question... originally it was going to be "Why do you fall clutching your face that way?" or "Why do you wear your gloves even in May?"!

And to be fair... Dixon Couldn't Attack.

This thread has drawn me in like quicksand.

There's lots of really creative, catchy stuff here. I must tip my hat to It's Up 4 Grabs Now here for the truly special My Way for Kolo and also for Berbatov/Godfather tune - and now I can't get it out of my head.

As I have a terrbile memory, especially for tunes/lyrics, I can only come with this:

To the tune of Let it Be

Hleb it be
Hleb it be
Hleb it be
Oh, Hleb it be

playing/scoring for the Arsenal - Hleb it be.

And this to Sgt. Peppers (first verse)

It was down at the lane we played
Arsene Wenger and his army raids
We won the league with a team of greats
With the **** looking on in hate
So this one goes out to the scum
From the team that’s London number one
Arsene Wenger’s red and white army

[quote="TheOne2Smooth"]how about bringing some of the old songs back for the 70's and 80's
like

We had joy, we had fun
we had Tottenham on the run
but the fun didn't last
because the bastards ran to fast

or

we are the Arsenal the kings of the south
we hate the Tottenham because they are all mouth
we took the shelf the shelf was fuck all
the cannon will fire and the cockrel will falll
la la la la la la la Arsenal

I used to love singing these. My favourite though was not actually "sung" as such, but when all our boys used to whstle Tom Hark. We did that mostly at away games , and when theres a few thousand of you it sounds amazing :o :o :o :o :o :o :o :o :o :o :o :o :o :o

ITS UP 4 GRABS, I DON'T WANT TO MAKE IT SEEM AS IF I'M PICKING ON YOU BUT....

WHAT? WHAT? WHAT? WHAT? WHAT?? LEE DIXON COULDN'T ATTACK? :? ARE YOU FOR REAL? :? DID YOU EVER SEE DIXON PLAY BETWEEN 1988 AND 2004? IF ANYTHING, HE SUFFERED FROM THE SAME CRITICISM AS EBOUE DOES NOW - NAMELY, THAT HE WAS GOOD GETTING FORWARD BUT A BIT SUSPECT IN DEFENCE. THANKFULLY, HE IMPROVED HIS DEFENDING NO-END, SO I SUPPOSE THERE IS HOPE YET FOR EBOUE - BUT I WOULDN'T HOLD YOUR BREATH!!  .

ADMITTEDLY, HE DIDN'T GET FORWARD QUITE AS MUCH IN THE LAST COUPLE OF YEARS, DUE TO HIS AGE, BUT BEFORE THAT HE WAS ALWAYS ADDING AN EXTRA ATTACKING DIMENSION TO OUR PLAY AND GETTING FORWARD OFTEN.

REMEMBER, MOST OF DIXON'S BEST YEARS WERE UNDER THE OLD GEORGE GRAHAM SYSTEM, YET HE WAS THE ONE DEFENDER THAT WOULD REGULARLY ATTACK (NUTTY WOULD OCCASIONALLY BUT NOT QUITE AS SUCCESSFULLY).

AS FOR THE EBOUE REFERENCE: SCHOOLBOY ERROR!!!  YOU MUST KNOW BY NOW THAT THE SUREST WAY TO GOAD AND GET A RESPONSE FROM EITHER ECD OR MYSELF IS TO MENTION EITHER OF OUR TWO NEMESIS - EBOUE AND HLEB - IN A POSITIVE WAY. :x  WHAT WERE YOU THINKING OF MAN?? YOU GOT A DEATH WISH OR SOMETHING?? :?  BOTH OF YOUR ORIGINAL CHOICES WOULD HAVE BEEN FAR, FAR BETTER. 8)

I TRUST, MY FRIEND, THAT YOU HAVE LEARNT YOUR LESSON AND WON'T BE MAKING THAT PARTICULAR ERROR AGAIN!!

GALASSO, OF ALL PEOPLE!! I EXPECTED BETTER FROM YOU. :( HAVE YOU NO HEART?? :?

BLOODY GOOD EFFORT THOUGH! 8) THAT, AT LEAST, I MUST ADMIT.

HLEB IN MY HEAD

Post by I Hate Hleb »

COME TO THINK OF IT, IT IS STRANGELY INFECTIOUS!!

WITH A MINOR ADJUSTMENT MADE TO THE LAST LINE, IT WOULD WORK GREAT - AND MAYBE EVEN INSPIRE OUR BELORUSSIAN:

'IF YOU SCORE FOR ARSENAL, I'LL LET IT BE'

OR MY PARTICULAR FAVOURITE:

'PLEASE JUST LEAVE THE ARSENAL, HEED MY PLEA!!'

IHH

 To be honest, my most vivid memories of Dixon are in his latter years so perhaps i was/am a tad unqualified to really judge his attacking prowess! I shall repent and withdraw my statement before the great man himself sues me for defamation of character.

Unfortunately there is no emoticon to express the feeling of having been "humbled"!

As for my "schoolboy error"... not that it was ever my intention ever to goad your good self of course, I am a little :? as to why my positive comments about Eboue would have enraged you when I thought your "nemesis" was Hleb and not Mr Glove Muppet! ...( for laughing at my own joke!)

Consider the Yesterday/Eboue song well and truly revised...

Eboue
Why do you wear your gloves even in May?
And then fall clutching your face that way?
Please tell me why
Oh Eboue

Hopefully this might remove me from your proverbial shit list???

IHH, i've just had a thought, what will happen if next season Hleb turns out to be one of our best players and goes on to become an arsenal legend, surely you will have to change your name, same principle different player For ECD

Taking inspiration from Galasso's effort for Mr Hleb (and also in a vain attempt to worm my way back into IHH's good books)...

To the tune of the opening lines to Help by The Beatles:

Hleb, pass to somebody
Hleb, please just anybody
Hleb, cos your shots are shoddy
Hlee-ee-eb
