It's all a load of Cannonballs in here! This is the virtual Arsenal pub where you can chat about anything except football. Be warned though, like any pub, the content may not always be suitable for everyone.

Enjoyed Colin Farrell's character, seems to have some depth and is on that morally ambiguous line between good and bad. He's playing it ok too. And I usually HATE him as an actor.
Vince Vaughan didn't ruin it the way I thought he would. But let's be honest, he ain't no serious actor.
Rachel McAdam's character is absolute shite. Cheaply written clichéd tough-female-cop-with-family-problems type character. Insults my intelligence. Hope she dies in the next episode!
The disturbed war veteran bike cop? Who cares. Another cheaply written cliché.
I'll stick with it because the first series was awesome. But it's not looking great. just ok.
Watched the laughably shite last couple of episodes of True Defective Series Poo.
The tagged on Hollywood shoot out a couple of episodes back was hilariously Arnie-ish in it's crapness. And then we are asked to believe that McAdams' and Farrell's characters literally fall hopelessly in love in the course of one conversation, having had literally fuck all real interaction up to that point. Literally.
The Butch Cassidy and the Sundance kid type ending for Farrell's character was fucking pathetically insulting to any viewer with an IQ above 5. And then to add injury to insult, ex-Special Forces motorbike cop guy wipes out an entire team of Spec Ops guys in a confined facility and then just diddy-bops his way out the main door to get shot in the back by generic bad guy number 1 just standing there waiting. And this after Ex-Special Forces motorbike cop guy has been specifically told the surrounding area "has eyes on" him??
Cheap, clichéd writing and cliched characters. The writers/director/producers should all be stabbed in the arse with a screwdriver. Please fuck off and die you bastards.
I watched the BBC version back in '95 and loved it; I got Netflix recently so re-watched it and although it has dated badly it is still very good.
So, having done that, I've just finished watching all three series of the recent American version. I fucking loved it, especially the first half of season one which Dave Fincher directed.
If you have any interest in the scumbag world of politics I'd highly recommend it.

By far.
It suffers from being too long; which a lot of recent television dramas do. That's what the original does well; all three series together are shorter than one season of the newer version.
Jenny: is she the one who fucks Gump around for years and then dies of AIDS? I hate that film.

Season 3 I felt was a cop out and just a filler.
It was strange. I thought it ended on a weird note but then my missus told me they're doing more, which made a bit more sense.

I guessed already after a few episodes that all we're getting is filler cos they probably wanted to do more. Then it just looks cynical (doesn't everything )
