THE WENGER THREAD

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

What about the French speaking areas of Canada? South Africans sometimes have French/German sounding names as well like the cricketers Francois du Plessis and Jacques Rudolph. Plenty more ground to be covered yet before we can officially declare that there really is only one

Plenty of French and German migrants to America and Australia as well

If you really want to be conclusive in your assertion that there's only one SteveO you may need to delve a little afield to other French-speaking countries in North Africa, Carribbean etc.

What if you actually find another Arsene Wenger? You'll have to completely change the tune you've been singing. Turncoat wanker :barscarf:

A search of the Yellow Pages equivalents in Germany, Austria and Switzerland required chaps and then I think we can rest easily that there really is only one.
Surely somewhere in the UK - if not Malaysia, Thailand, Japan, Connecticut etc - at least one disciple has changed their name by deed poll to Arsene Wenger.

Come to think of it, if it'll stop you fucking typing it, I'll do it myself. :barscarf:
Beware if you do.......see Rodders last post. In Liam Neeson style he will find you and he will kill you......to ensure that there really is only one and he can stay off the domestos next time he hears it sung :D

In my mind Rodders actually looks like the Limpar photo in his avatar - complete with the mullet, and the half-smug-half-puzzled facial expression of someone who's just let one rip after holding it in for hours and is caught in that precise split-second moment literally halfway between revelling in the joyous relief and the sobering realisation that he's just followed through.

So the thought of being threatened down the phone by him is somewhat disconcerting. :worried:

And perhaps a little arousing.

That call will cost you £2.99 per minute 8)

However any mention of he who shall not be named will see the call abruptly ended and then sir we will have a problem.

Hmmm.....Canada could be where the dream that there really is only one is crushed :(

A search of Arsene Wenger returned only these 2 results:

Orseno A Enger
Orson O Unger

http://www.whitepages.ca/name/arsene-wenger/

But, there's a page and a half of A Wenger's. Still the search continues.....

Ha ha - anyone recognise this guy??

Rodders - if you're in the family planning cycle mate I thought this might help your choice of baby names :D

Who is he?
Arsène is strong and masculine, proud, ambitious and quite magnetic - a quality that he nurtures, by the way. His company is generally pleasant and reassuring, a combination of charm and elegance. A rather strict man, it isn´t worth trying to pull the wool over his eyes or take advantage of him. He tends to see the world in black and white: as far as he is concerned life is perfectly simple, there are the goodies and then there are the baddies - and he doesn´t have time to waste with the latter... Three letters with a value of 1 in this seven letter first name confer him a great need to affirm his authority and the desire to take on and assume responsibility. His considerable capacity for work is most often expressed through concrete, material accomplishment. An outdoor type who is capable of using his initiative, he proves to be swift, intolerant and impatient as well as often a little harsh or brutal in his speech. He considers it to be common sense that anything he can do, others can too... He is a perfectionist going on obsessive and he possesses a very strong professional conscience. Try not to offend him because he is as touchy as he is proud. On the other hand, he is also reliable, generous and of fine moral character - although he can be a little preoccupied with the accumulation of wealth. As a child, he is quite a difficult character: jealous, possessive and obstinate, Arsène has difficulty admitting if he is in the wrong and can be very argumentative; while he is also courageous and self-disciplined. He is deeply attached to his family (karmic 6) who therefore have a considerable influence on his destiny, and he tends to be obedient and willing to help and participate. Group activities are recommended, which will enable him to develop his humane qualities in line with the high aspirations of his master number 11.

I've always imagined Rodders looks like that too!

I think we are going to be very very disappointed when we find out Rodders is a 5'4" 250 pound bald slob in his 40's that molests goats. :(

Or a "Spuddy", if you will.

In my world that means that I have shown "a remarkable consistency, and I do not get the credit I deserve"

I do love Anders though :barscarf:

That means an option for the wengerites to ignore any criticism of their master, this is the online version of putting your fingers to your ears, and shouting, I cant hear you :)
