At 0-4, with a rare chance to cross, only Giroud is in the middle v 4 red shirts.
We could be playing Cardiff or Barcelona, 4 up or 4 down, Wenger will always stubbornly stick to his same formation and tactics.

Re: WENGER - Views For and Against.
the proof that we don't tailor our tactics depending on who our opposition is was blindingly obvious today. so much naivety in defence and lack of cohesion in midfield. THATS why I laugh when I hear some of our deluded support thinking we had a shout for the title. It was always a false position in the table
Re: WENGER - Views For and Against.
When I dared to suggest that The Calendar Year Trophy 2013 was a quirk of the fixture lists from the end of last season and start of this apparently I was "stubborn as a mule" and daft for not thinking we'd progressedHenry Norris 1913 wrote:the proof that we don't tailor our tactics depending on who our opposition is was blindingly obvious today. so much naivety in defence and lack of cohesion in midfield. I'll say now what I dared to then. End of season will see us finish 4th and having exited the CL in the round of 16 and the cup we could win in Round 5. So where's the fucking progress in that?
Re: WENGER - Views For and Against.
That's the majority view, SteveO. What do you mean "say now what you dared to then"??SteveO 35 wrote: When I dared to suggest that The Calendar Year Trophy 2013 was a quirk of the fixture lists from the end of last season and start of this apparently I was "stubborn as a mule" and daft for not thinking we'd progressed

Even those who think we've progressed (like me) agree that a trophy is unlikely and also agree that early cup exits are likely to follow.
Only a handful of people "dare" be more optimistic, but lets not gloat. I'm sure we'll all be sad if they're wrong.

Re: WENGER - Views For and Against.
Mate....with the greatest respect you were one of those imploring me to think that a corner had been turned ! In fact the quote was from you. You said I was incredibly prudent to suggest a 4th placed finish. Are you now being equally prudent?g88ner wrote:That's the majority view, SteveO. Most would agree and do so in August too.

My view hasn't changed. Neither has yours.
I do think we're progressed. And as I've stated before, 2013 has been undoubtedly better than 2012 and 2011 (in my opinion).
But as you know, I don't think Wenger is the man to take us forward so I won't be attending the BBQ.
But saying you "dared" to think we'd finish 4th and have early cup exists makes it sound like you're being brave when, in truth, that's the view shared by the vast majority.

Without even bothering to check, I bet Steve O's been all over this like a pig in shit, barely able to conceal his boner over finally getting a big defeat to roll out his "I told you so" routine. Altogether now! :-

Re: WENGER - Views For and Against.
Why do people quote calendar years? If you play all the shite at the back end of one season and the start of another it will inevitably produce that outcome. You said I was incredibly prudent to say we would finish 4th when we were top.....now you say it's the view of the many. So why was it prudent a few weeks ago if you always agreed ?g88ner wrote:eh??SteveO 35 wrote:Mate....with the greatest respect you were one of those imploring me to think that a corner had been turned ! Don't get your Mesut Ozil knickers in a twist sweetie. Nice to see you've managed a whole post without using the 'c' word. Maybe you should stay off the shandy for good. Who knows....maybe long division and joined up writing next week?Robin_L wrote:Without even bothering to check, I bet Steve O's been all over this like a pig in shit, barely able to conceal his boner over finally getting a big defeat to roll out his "I told you so" routine. Maybe I'm wrong and your prediction of us finishing 4th stands out more than I thought.SteveO 35 wrote: Why do people quote calendar years? Didn't a poll on here in August end with most saying we'd finish 4th or 5th???
I think I said 4th. I'll check.
Either way, I'm not sure your prediction is that different to most on here?
Re: WENGER - Views For and Against.
Nice to see you managed to go a whole post without calling Wenger a nasty name.
Maybe you're even starting to bore yourself at last

4th in August perhaps. As I said - how many including you were saying that a few weeks back?g88ner wrote:Maybe I'm wrong and your prediction of us finishing 4th stands out more than I thought.SteveO 35 wrote: Why do people quote calendar years?
