Arsenal had offered Eddie Nketiah a new contract to protect his value. That has not been accepted so a decision on his future now becomes more urgent. They may adopt a similar strategy with Reiss Nelson, offering him a new contract before sending him out on loan. [@TheAthleticUK] https://t.co/rOfcm18fBn

Arsenal already have a ‘principle of agreement’ with Benfica for the transfer of left-back Nuno Tavares. The player will sign a five-year contract. Arsenal are ‘very close’ to securing the transfer. [@JornalNoticias] #afc https://t.co/gKxiCOYGe9

Arsenal are edging closer to an agreement with Anderlecht over Albert Sambi Lokonga’s acquisition. Garlick has been in consistent contact with the Belgian side. Arsenal have connections that have enabled them to learn more about the player’s character & ability. [@TheAthleticUK] https://t.co/JtkodFFRMT

🚨 EXCL: Aston Villa make 2nd bid to sign Emile Smith Rowe from Arsenal. After ~£25m offer rejected, new ~£30m proposal also rebuffed. #AFC adamant 20yo midfielder not for sale but new contract not agreed + #AVFC don’t seem to be going away @TheAthleticUK https://t.co/jWL7jIKJVk
Apparently there's a video doing the rounds of Tavares snogging his dogs. The last dog shagger we had was pretty good.

Also, where did Aston Villa find a set of balls from?

£30M seems an incredibly low bid for ESR, not that I'd sell him for double that but he has the potential to become one of the best 10s in England...

Looking at prices paid for some shit English players recently anyone who would accept that for him needs shot however with this Arsenal who knows what will happen

They feel that they beat us to Buendia and they stole Martinez , they reckon that we are a push over and they might be right.

Arsenal’s summer strategy is focused on adding players in the earlier stages of their career, who can make a long-term contribution to the squad. [@TheAthleticUK]

Arsenal’s summer strategy is based on the scattergun principle. Get linked with 573 different players but faff around signing nobody of note but an unknown from the Belgian or Portuguese leagues. Then just after the season starts sign a couple of over the hill hasbeens on huge wages who just happen to be Kia Joorabchian's clients.

Said players will of course play in positions that are well covered already.

Then when we do sign anyone, a couple of years later we try to sell them on for a fraction of the price we paid....

Wasn’t it the other day our strategy to sign players with premier league experience ?

It’s almost as if we make it up as we go along

Arsenal have made an official bid of €17.5m + add-ons of potentially around €4m for Anderlecht midfielder Albert Sambi Lokonga. The player has already agreed personal terms with the club. Anderlecht want a 15% future sale percentage on the deal. [@FabrizioRomano] #afc

Benfica left-back Nuno Tavares is ‘getting closer & closer’ to moving to Arsenal. [@FabrizioRomano] #afc

We don't have a transfer policy because neither Edu or Arteta really have a clue how to improve us

There is one really simple thing the club could do however it's the least likely of them all :banghead:

That's the key thing there in red. Our entire transfer "process" smacks of being little more than "bring in new players" with not much thought given to what positions we critically need to improve or to what system or style of play would then rely on those players.

It's.... almost as if we make it up as we go along.

Very much like our approach to what was once known as tactics but now seems to be called "in-game managment."
