Abou Diaby - Injuries Thread
Re: Abou Diaby - injuries
Poor Abou. Our unbeaten start went up in smoke the minute he limped off against Chelsea
Looking forward to the full recovery of the modern day Invincible more than any other development at Arsenal

Re: Abou Diaby - injuries
Abou Diaby believes he will start the race to fitness next month as he looks to step up his recovery from his latest injury setback.
The Frenchman suffered an ACL injury in training with the Gunners in March and is expected to be out of action until the end of the year.
It still remains doubtful that the lanky midfielder will feature ahead of schedule but the signs are promising for his recovery as he looks to step up his recovery in the next four weeks.
According to the Injury League, he told Football.fr:
I’m on schedule, even if my condition fluctuates.
Sometimes I’m ahead, sometimes behind, but I should be able to start to run in four weeks.
Diaby’s injury list is insane and has stretched out to 36 since his arrival from Auxerre in 2006.
Last season was hoped to be the campaign where he was able to push on and finally prove his worth, despite starting strongly he was then ruled out for the year after the Chelsea match in late September.
He then returned in the New Year but was unable to regain the form demonstrated in 2012 before once again succumbing to multiple injuries. Unfortunately for Diaby patience is wearing thin from Gooners who are fed up with his injury prone nature.
It may well be time to depart with the Frenchman, however not until he’s fit and re-sellable.. So maybe next year then. Such a waste of wages for a player who barely features.

Some of the strongest toughest players never fully recover from ACL injuries, what fucking chance has this wimp? A 9 year old girl would have more chance. Please please please just get fucking rid of him and give his wage to someone that can actually play in more than 3 games a season ffs!

Does Diaby's contract ever expire? I could fo swore last year Diaby was saying he had to earn a new deal because it was his final year.

Probably earned it with something along the lines of the above, I reckon.
You get the gist of it, huh ??
(btw, that is not Abou in the pic.)

They shoot racehorses in the head but a bullet on this droopy lipped, thick looking, useless *word censored* would be a total waste of a bullet. Another shocking decision by the arsehole in charge to continually give this waste of space a contract and to continually roll him out after every comeback as ''like a new signing'' I dare say we'll hear these words again come February 2014, along with yet another contract extension for both *word censored*.
Re: Abou Diaby - injuries
I did some research because currently I have more time then Diaby does.
First sad news: Contract until: 30.06.2015
Then:
172 apps in 7 years, 4 months and 30 days which is 2708 days (until today- 12.6.13)
In this time he was injured for 773 days, plus the current injury who will last until 28.12.2013, so +200 days to injury record.
So when the new year's day (2014) comes, he will be here for 2910 days while injured for 973.
If we add to this June and July from every year when he did
nothing, that's another 472days.
How much money did he costs us: Wages? Too much (20m?). Medical team? Even more.

Re: Abou Diaby - injuries
You're right ACLs are no joke. For someone who has had so many soft tissue/muscle injuries already, an ACL is pretty much the last thing he needed, probably worse than a ruptured Achilles, or a broken thigh. I really don't think there is a top level career in football for diaby any more.DB10GOONER wrote:Some of the strongest toughest players never fully recover from ACL injuries, what fucking chance has this wimp? Re: Abou Diaby - injuries
I think in hindsight the long term contract Wenger gave Diaby in Dec 2009 looks absolutely nuts, but a quick look back at the ever reliable wikipedia shows that in 2008/09 he made 36 appearances (24 in the league) and in 2009/10, the season he signed the contract extension, he managed 40 appearances (29 in the league) so I suppose the club felt his injury nightmare was behind him.p206ab wrote: First sad news: Contract until: 30.06.2015
Sadly, since the 2009/10 season, Diaby (and his iron tight long term contract

and, as we know, he's not due back for a good 7 or 8 months yet

Bloody nightmare... and what an expensive waste of money!

Not that I blame Diaby though - it's hardly his fault Dan Smith ruined his career, and it's not his fault his injury nightmare has taken hold since he signed that contract.
Re: Abou Diaby - injuries
I don't think most of our frustrations are directly squarely at Diaby. It's not like he chooses to injure himself, or he doesn't care of his body. The problem is really the excuses Wenger gave for not buying the players we NEED because Diaby might be 'killed'. Which is ridiculous for two reasons, first because our squads have always been too thin and two Diaby is highly likely to miss many games.
Re: Abou Diaby - injuries
Sad indeed because in a couple of weeks time we have the prospect of only 2 more years of the modern day Invinciblep206ab wrote: First sad news: Contract until: 30.06.2015
I can only hope Lord Wenger makes the next contract extension that of the Great Abou once he's had his own sorted

Oh for fuck sake someone's mentioned Dan Smith again. I think my head's gonna explode.

Re: Abou Diaby - injuries
If Diaby was an honorable man, he'd announce his retirement and save us having to pay two extra years wages for doing the square root of fuck all, while costing us even more for his medical bills.

There is more chance of Joey Le Bartón opening his mouth and something other than stupidity coming out. Or Jordan saying "No really, thank you, but I've had enough dodgy cock - I think I'll pass."1989 wrote:If Diaby was an honorable man, he'd announce his retirement and save us having to pay two extra years wages for doing the square root of fuck all, while costing us even more for his medical bills.
