He was either lying or he didn't understand what he was talking about. Probably the first.
This a truly frightening explanation of the shit we have been dropped in. One of the best things I have read since Brexit.

frighteningly subjective. comes on chippy u can do better than this. a subjective piece from a known left leaning confirmed remainer with limited online appeal.
He's quoting 2 academics but you didn't read that bit. He has also promised to publish any Brexiter who wants to refute what was said, but no-one has taken him up on the offer. Perhaps you as a graduate of an elite university could do it?
regrettably no as I'm quite inarticulate despite my intelligence in certain areas. indeed almost on the autistic spectrum given some of my eccentricities. however I'm sure if clever articulate Brexiteers in the public realm wanted and were so inclined they could. but what would they gain from it? it's over.

The Turkey joining by 2020 lie looking good tonight.
The EU is paying pre-succession money to Albania, Montenegro, Serbia, Macedonia and Turkey. Bosnia is also recognised as a candidate for joining.
How do you feel about all or any of these countries joining?
Albania and Serbia's accession is well advanced. Would this type of enlarged EU be good or bad for UK and/or EU?
When Poland joined the Blair govt predicted 30, 000 Poles would come to Britain. 600,000 came.
I don't believe it's racist to worry about uncontrolled mass-migration from economically weak states.
Does anyone believe the EU will strictly enforce its own rules regarding new members? It never has, because the political project outweighs legality, economics and practicality.
Will an ever-growing EU be successful? I don't know, but I don't think so.

what's wrong with regaining sovereignty and stopping unlimited eu immigration?
Please define what you mean by "regaining sovereignty." We cannot stop EU immigration without tanking the economy. Read the article I posted above.

Just seen that on the morning of the Nice atrocity, Nigel Farage was a guest on T.V.A.M. where a woman presenter basically accused him and the "Brexit" voters of being responsible for the massacre as he/we had caused the divisions which led to it.
This anti leave bullshit has got to fucking stop!

I am surprised anyone treats TV am as a seriously credible news program, given we have the likes of Garraway and Piers Morgan anchoring. I never did get why Suzanne Reid left the BBC. It can only be for the $$$.
Nigel Farage is a prick, he has the audacity to go onto TVAM and admit that the battle buses £350m claim was a lie, then resign claiming his work was done. He should be facing his European counterparts, with the likes of Johnson and Leadsom trying to trash out trade deals that will take years to ratify.
By the way you are from Rugby right? I used to travel up there regularly to visit a client of myne who was in the music industry. They had a distribution warehouse that had a large contingent of Eastern Europeans doing the less skilled jobs. I asked why there where not more home grown workers given the location, the Finance Director in no uncertain terms told me that the local workforce turned their noses up at doing this sort of work, not that they had the skills to do something else more like they couldn't be bothered. Kind of says a lot for British jobs for British workers ehh.
And if you are from Rugby what is wrong with Coventry City

Nut Flush I'm sure you'd be delighted to see Farage and Boris given the lead in EU negotiations

Did you notice that TM created new roles to handle brexit negotiations. A lot of this work would normally fall within the remit of the FO. I think the Boris appointment in a strange way is a punishment for all the crap he's come out with down the years. He now has to face these people! Still DT will no doubt give him a warm reception.

The Brexit department added to the role of the Cabinet Office means that (thankfully) the Foreign Secretary role is increasingly that of a figurehead.
Boris will be better received outside of Europe and idiocy aside was a pretty good ambassador for London around the globe. Hopefully he can keep his powder dry and let the grown-ups get on with the big boy negotiations.
The Government needs to employ as many of the trade negotiators that are currently working for the EU as possible because we simply don't have the expertise. Likewise government needs to go on a legal recruitment drive.

I am not saying TVAM is a credible news programme, it is the T.V. equivalent of a tacky tabloid, and as such fuels lowest common denominator opinions,in this case that leave voters are all divisive racists.
Secondly, there are loads of distribution warehouses around Rugby, and yes, a lot of them are predominantly staffed by Eastern Europeans, However, this is not because the lazy British don't want to work in them, but because the recruitment in a lot of them is controlled by agencies, many of whom advertise any vacancies only in Eastern European countries. This sill happens despite legislation to try and prevent this. Also, as you probably know, a lot of recruitment is also done by word of mouth, so obviously this perpetuates the high ratio of Eastern Europeans in this industry.
Thirdly, yes I am from Rugby, but used to live in London, near Clissold Park, not that far from Highbury. But Charlie George is mainly responsible for me supporting Arsenal, as I told him once when joking about the amount of money he had cost me over the years!

Not sure I buy that, I got to know the FD of this large US company over a number of years and I am inclined to listen to how it is from the inside out. For the shitty jobs it's really down to wages, the British didn't want to do non skilled jobs for next to nothing, when they can be sat at home claiming benefits and not a lot worse off. That culture was started by New Labour and it still hasn't been unwound.
This is replicated up and down the country, the resentment is the overseas workers have driven down wages in real terms. The way I look at it, is if you are unskilled and not happy with your job prospects you should be looking to do something about it rather than expecting government handouts. Even then there are loads of opportunities to get skills/education without having to pay anything for it.

OK. Here is a bit from "The inside out." A mate of mine,(Graeme...he's Welsh hence the spelling), is currently working in a smallish warehouse in our area. Out of about 100 staff , 4 of them are British. The signage in the workplace is Polish, except for the H&S stuff which is duel. All the team leaders are Eastern European and give the shit jobs to the British lads. Graeme says that he can work all day without hearing anyone speaking English, and the same applies if he stays in the canteen at breaktimes. As a result of this, he and the other 3 "indigenous" lads spend their breaks in the smoking shelter,(even though only one of them smokes), or the car park. Is that enough from "the inside out" for you?
